The SWP will formly ceast to exist at 12 midnight tonight (Friday June 21ST)
This is a story that the Trottie Socialist Workers Party (Ireland) tried desperately to suppress and to prevent ever going public. All SWP members had to sign a declaration of secrecy that they would never release this to the media. But I'm giving you this bombshell news here and now - the SWP (Ireland) will be disbanded at 12 midnight tonight (Friday June 21ST).
Yes - the SWP (Ireland) will formly ceast to exist at 12 midnight tonight (Friday June 21ST). This is great news for those who have become pissed off with the SWP hijacking and trying to take over movements such as GR, IAWM, Anti bin tax campaigns etc. Really a cause for celebration for so many on the real Left and Anarchism. Enjoy your drinks tonight.

If theres a dodgy posting calling for unity, or to turn on the real enemy - wipe it, better still if there is some ridiculous posting such as the above then its them bastards trying to discredit our wonderful tool for attacking the 'em ruling (swp) class.

I wish the SWP would disband it would make the work of those on the left much easier.
The SWP have turned hundreds (if not thousands) off left wing politics because of their tactics. Sell the paper and recruit, covergroups etc.....
Have SWP members ever wondered why they get very little support from ordinary people? Just look at your election results.
In the Anti Bin Charges Campaign all you do is sell the paper, try to recruit, and try to undercut other left parties involved. In Waterford the SWP attacked Bertie Ahern's car, this was against the mood of the people there and it turned people more away from you.
Serious ordinary members of SWP should leave them and join a proper party of Socialist Workers.

The State Capitalist theory was adopted by the Swimmers in an opportunistic attempt to get members in post war western Europe. Why bother trying to explain the nature of USSR when you can just label it Capitalist.
And why were the SWP all over that Public Meeting with Che Geuava's daughter a few months ago? Surely they believe that Cuba is Capitalist? Surely then they would sell their paper outside a meeting with G. W Bush's daughter!

We never said the Russia was an advanced economy. We said that as a planned economy & there were definite gains. The USSR was undemocratic which was the major reason for its colapse.
Russia is no longer a planned economny. The restoration of capitalism (which the SWP cheered on) is well established. The lives of those in eastern europe was not great prior to 1989, but now it is even worse as capitalism and its poverty & unemployment is restored.

The NHS is planned but that doesn't mean it isn't a capitalist institution. By the way multinationals plan. In Russia different units made up that they had reached planned targets to avoid the Gulag.
Every capitalist economy has the potential to go from Russia pre-89 to Russia post-89. Oh and the problems did not come about because of 'the counter revolution' to capitalism. The crisis in the economy had little to do with democracy, why 1989 and not 1979 for instance?
