"Where The Hazel Falls" poetry anthology launched

Electric Publications have launched their newest anthology "Where the Hazel Falls" with a launch in Dublin last week to be swiftly followed with the Wexford launch on November 7th. The Pillar room in the Wexford Arts Centre (7pm to 9pm) will play host to the launch of this collection of poems from new and established Irish writers, many of whom hail from the Wexford area.

Electric Publications describe their new anthology as the works of nine poets, each with their own distinctive style and agendas; but with all of these poets is a common thread - a love of this land and a way of looking at the world that reaches beyond the mundane. The collection is one of great variety, linking poets of different style and interests but with a common theme running through the works, of connection to the land. Ancient myth, modern concerns - all make their appearance as nine poets articulate their views.

The title is taken from the Whitely Stokes translation of the Connla legend, telling how the Hazel falling into the Well of Connla gives rise to the seven streams of wisdom and inspiration.

At the Halfpenny Bridge Inn in Dublin four of the poets read their works, including Toddy Kennedy whose collection "Introduction" already enjoyed success (also published by Electric Publications) Ann Dalton, Adam Dunlea and Geraldine Moorkens Byrne. Music was provided by the singer/songwriter Jimi Cullen. At Wexford on November 9th, there will be readings from Ted Sludds, Wil Kinghan, Gemma McCabe and Toddy Kennedy.

"Where the Hazel Falls" is available now from www.electricpublications.com ; copies are also available to buy at the launch. The public is welcome to attend this event, and can also have their copies autographed by the poets attending.
