Call To Artistic Dictators

category international | arts and media | event notice author Monday August 06, 2007 12:50author by Twinkle toes - 2WAYM.COM Report this post to the editors

Artistic big brother seeks wacky ideas, thoughts musings

2 lonely artists seek your wacky possibly fantabulous ideas to turn them into timeless pieces of art work.... while you monitor their fumblings via webcam at 2waym.com

This project will use the internet to change the boundaries of the creative process and incorporate you the public by means of a designated website, 2waym.com

You are invitied to suggest 2 artists 'working brief' via a website forum 2waym.com You can then view the creative process at all times via live web-cam from the artists studios, and the final exhibition will be viewable via web-cam at the same website.

Mass media has opened up almost every aspect of life for examination, but to date the creative process remains shrouded in mystery. Modern high profile artistic personae are cultivated as a commodity in themselves. It can be said that the the media propagate the concept that such extravagant personalities are an essential element of creativity. In this project, the audience will view the unedited struggle of creating work, allowing for the debunking of this myth. We hope that access to this process, from conception to the finished pieces, will give the public a greater appreciation for any resulting work and enable them to contextualise it.

2waym.com indulges our voyeuristic tendencies, allowing intimate access to behind the scenes of creativity but also questions the validity of such voyeurisim.

2 visual artists will take their working brief from you, the public via a web site. You can follow their subsequent creative work via webcam at the same site: 2waym.com Resulting work will be combined with sound and long form improvisation during an exhibition in Dublin, October 2007.

This ecletic group comprising a composer, visual artists, and a group of actors seek to combine composition and performance with the more traditional visual arts practices. The October exhibition will incorporate sound, long-form improvisation and physical art pieces. The whole project and final exhibition will be streamed live over the web at 2waym.com and will cross the boundaries of the traditional visual arts.

2waym.com aims to involve you, the audience in an active role.
