Championing Equality: UCD Equality Society Inaugural Lecture 2008

Following our formal ratification, the UCD Equality Society are delighted to host their inaugural public lecture on the 28th February 2008, with special guest speakers Katherine Zappone & Ann Louise Gilligan, who will speak about their own experiences of inequalities and how they are challenging inequality in Ireland. The event will be chaired by Judy Walsh (Barrister of Law & Head of the Equality Studies Centre in UCD) and will be followed by a reception.

Katherine and Ann Louise are currently waiting to hear when their appeal to the High Court decision not to recognise their marriage will be heard in the Supreme Court. It is expected that this appeal will be heard late this year or early in 2009.
