The protest took place at Damascus Gate in the Old City and was apparently peaceful, until police entered the crowd and forcefully dispersed the people, preventing the protest from continuing. According to the source, 4 local men were detained and taken away by police.

It has been reported that over 200 young Palestinian men have been kidnapped in the Jerusalem area over recent days. The Israeli newspaper Yedot-Ahranot, said that most of those kidnapped were from Jerusalem old city, Shaofat Refugee Camp, and Al Toor neighbourhood. According to the Israeli newspaper, all arrests were made because the youths were involved in protesting against the Israeli attacks in Gaza, which so far have killed 385 Palestinians.
