The Emperor has No Clothes

DUP MLA Sammy Wilson claims jobs should be given to locals before migrant workers.

Such comments made by members of the political class at Stormont should come as no surprise as they are eager to blame the most vulnerable sections of our class for their ‘dis’-management of the economy.

Sammy, the current Stormont Environmental minister who earns at least £43,381 annually before expenses is well known for his antics off the field including his holidays in the nude abroad, fits in well with a party that believes in pie in the sky in the form of creationist theory.

Sammy Wilson speaking on the last edition of The Politics Show said: “when it comes to a downturn, I think if jobs are becoming vacant and you've got people with equal skills, and can do the job, etc., then I think preference should be given to people from Northern Ireland.”

Apart from his discriminatory remarks and impractical nature of his suggestion, he also hits an own goal attempting to naively compare a 'migrant' worker to a 'native' worker. Does a Chinese couple who has lived and worked here for over 30 years have ‘less roots’ and less entitled to a job than somebody born in Belfast?

Anarchists support the freedom and equality of everyone regardless of sexual orientation, age, gender and ethnic origin.

As the recession continues to bite, politicians and bosses will continue to scapegoat migrant workers, ‘dole scroungers’ and anyone else who comes to mind for the mess they have created.

The point is we should not let them get away with it based on our common class interests and collective solidarity. Unity is strength!

Have You ever seen the lovely educational film entitled ''The Emperor Has New Clothes'' ?

The Film I Refer To is a Classic and is basically about a Man Who Had It All and Meets A Simple Lady who Loves Him For What He Is And For No Other
Reason .........

Point Being .....The People Of The North Of Ireland have cultivated a scenario to which most Ordinary Folk are fed up to the teeth of the aforesaid
and the constant bickering and Hatred within .

We down here dont really care ,perhaps wrongly , about the finnicky goings on in a part of Ireland where the General Population seems forever to suffer
from A.D.H.

The carry on a few days ago and that Nordy Twang giving their Views as to some scheme or other in which Terrorists 'N All get a Chickens Neck for
12,000 Sterling is a real step into the past as time has shown us due to the treatment meted out to a 6 county part of Irish People that have lost
their identity FOREVER.

Go And See The Film mentioned above and hopefully some guidance may be achieved from the message in the Bottle .

£43,000 is a lot less than he would be paid here in Dublin. I don't know anything about Mr Wilson but they do have a better idea of the value of money and ministers in the wee north.

They certainly do. And the scandals involving Government and Big Business, and banks, wouldn't be allowed to happen in the North, either. They have no tolerance for the 'cute hoor' mentality, whereas we still think, even when we're screwing our own people, that we're scoring a victory over imperialism!

Actually there is the concept of " displacement " which has been used to keep wages low. If there is someone local who can do the job then they should get it. This is supposed to be the practice and is common sense. But Sammy is a chancer, to say the least!!

No "Cute Hoor" mentality in the North Fred ??????

Northern Ireland has been a By-Word for sectarian bigotry and Gerrymandering and injustice for most of the last century.

It was the cesspit of western Europe.

Also Remember, Ulster Unionists never really regarded Local Catholics as "Locals".

They were "Taigues" who should go "home" to the south if they didn't like that bastion of pure godliness known as Northern Ireland.
