The fact that the assailant has a mental health history weakens the impact of the assault. If it had been a redundant worker throwing his shoes Iraqi-journalist style it would have been imaginative and more awareness raising in its media impact. Berlusconi is a rich, arrogant and rakish power buffoon whose public persona needs to be deflated. I hope the international media will continue to home in on his predatory liasons with glamorous young women.

Whereas about 50,000 people have expressed their admiration in the form of "fan" for Mr Tartaglia.

Aside from his little doumo milan cathedral souvenir, the 42 year old was also carrying pepper spray & a crucifix in his bag.
but no garlic.
