Dublin Republicans to Commemorate the 1916 Rising.
Republicans in Dublin have organised three Easter Commemorations for 2010 - Saturday 3rd April , Sunday 4th April and Monday 5th April.
Hi !
Republican Sinn Féin in Dublin will be holding three Easter Commemorations this year :
Easter Saturday , 3rd April 2010 - 2pm on the bridge in Balbriggan ;
Easter Sunday , 4th April 2010 , 1pm at the Cemetery gates in Deansgrange ;
Easter Monday , 5th April 2010 - Garden of Remembrance , Dublin City Centre at 1.45pm : the parade will leave at that time to arrive at the GPO for 2pm.
Further details regarding each of the three commemorations will be published on this thread between now and then.
Thanks!

I would sometimes take the kids in to the GPO for the Fianna Fail easter commemoration,but not anymore. We'll be there on easter monday for the rsf one instead this year.
Hi Martin !
RSF would be delighted to see you and the kids at the GPO on Easter Monday - we won't have the 'style' that Fianna Fail uses (abuses?) ie the State Army trappings , the fly-overs and the well-suited and over-paid hangers-on , but there will be substance on offer.
Thanks for your comment and your support,
Sharon.

Hi !
Neither the bad weather or the uncalled-for harassment of the State 'Special Branch' interfered too much with proceedings today in Balbriggan , at the RSF Easter Commemoration which was held on the Bridge at the Memorial Stone to two Republican supporters who were murdered by British Auxiliaries in September 1920.
A brief report and some pictures can be seen at the 'Related Link' below.
Thanks!
Sharon.

Hi !
The wreath-laying ceremony in Deansgrange Cemetery , Dublin , was held today with between thirty and forty Republicans in attendance. The proceedings were Chaired by ex-POW Seán O Sé and Seán O Brádaigh was the main speaker.
A brief report can be obtained by clicking on the 'Related Link' below , and a full report will be carried in the May 2010 issue of 'Saoirse'.
Thanks!

Deansgrange Cemetery , Dublin , Easter Sunday 2010.
Hi !
Two hours in preparation beforehand on the day , one hour on 'site' , approximately 300-plus members of the public present for the final hour (with thousands of on-lookers overall!) and over 600 'booklets' of Republican leaflets distributed - the Easter Monday RSF Commemoration at the GPO in Dublin went very well today and was very well received.
A report and some pics can be seen at the 'Related Link' below.
Thanks!

The 1916 Proclamation been read on Easter Monday 2010 at the GPO , Dublin.
I was at the GPO with my two kids on Easter Monday for that commemoration and I'd like to congratulate the organisers.
It was a very dignified and proper ceremony and it was a very fitting tribute to the men and women of 1916.
Good job,well done.
Hi Frank !
I think I was talking to you on the day , Frank , and your two wee daughters : one was shy (Louise) whereas the 'older' girl , Emily, asked if I could arrange for her to have her picture taken , whilst she stood beside the speakers lectern - which we did !
Thanks for your kind comments - they really are appreciated by all of us.
Also - an American 'International Travel Writer' , Ron Chatham , was at the GPO on Easter Monday as the Commemoration was being held , and he took some excellent photographs - they can be viewed at the 'Related Link' below.
(Incidentally , Frank - both of your daughters can be seen in those photographs!)
Thanks!
Sharon.
