Fís Nua, First Convention and Public Meeting

Would you like to become part of a new All-Ireland Federation - a political structure for individuals, groups and organisations with a social justice and ecology agenda?

Fís Nua’s first Convention is taking place on Saturday, September 11th,
2010, in the Teacher’s Club, 36 Parnell Square West, Dublin. The Convention starts at 12 noon.

We would like to invite all who want to become members of Fís Nua to attend the convention. Every member has the right to speak and propose amendments at the Convention. Anyone who has been member of the Fís Nua for at least three months is entitled to vote.

On the agenda:

Amendments and vote on the Fís Nua Manifesto.
Vote on the Party Constitution.
Election of the Federated Party Co-ordinating Committee (FPCC).
Selection of the Party Logo.

Anyone who is interested in the new federated party is very welcome to our public meeting which starts at 3 p.m., after the Convention.

Thanks for you comment Realist. You're correct, it's not as broad based yet as we would like it to be and we have a way to go. However, it is a start in the right direction. As you can see, this is a federation, a collective of interested parties, and we have opened the doors to individuals, groups and organisations with a social justice and ecology agenda to either come on board with us or to write to us with their proposals for our manifesto. These are the people who are the experts in their field and that's who we want to listen to - the people at the coal face. There's no point in bureaucrats in large institutions deciding these policies for other people.

Pat it just does not seem to be broad based enough. It's a big well done for the enthusiam but do you really think with such a narrow based that you can get people elected as an alternative? There is no promotion going on of your party it seems to be so small..................................................................................................................................................................
