A public meeting for people interested in our project takes place in the Ballybane Resource Centre on Thursday 7th October. All welcome.
Tea and coffee starts from 6:30pm and the meeting proper starts at 7pm, ends 8:30pm. Not wheelchair accessible as the room is upstairs.
Our vision is to create a small, purpose-built settlement somewhere in the west of Ireland, whose residents will work together to produce much of their own food and energy and build a strong, close-knit community.
The settlement will be built and run in a way that is environmentally sustainable. It will have private houses belonging to or rented to each family unit, and common spaces and facilities owned by all where residents can cook, eat, work and socialise together.
As well as residents working in the wider economy, the community will have a vibrant local economy. It will be based on an ethos of equality and inclusivity, and will be committed to educating itself and raising awareness about ecological and community living.

Their one and only sanction if you don't pull your weight is exile back to the capitalist system of america
