IRSP: Parades Agreement Sop to Business Leaders

Last weekend's Apprentice Boys of Derry 'charade' through Derry is nothing more than a fascist display of triumphalism.

The local business people who negotiate with the Apprentice Boys do so with no mandate from any community and do so to serve their own selfish
interests of geed.

This is clearly seen because during these agreements there is no concern
shown for working class residents such as those in Spencer Road, Chapel Road and Gobnascale. These business leaders are interested only in making sure that they get a good day's business out of the event and that there isno objection to the event because that would mean less people in town to use their establishments.

The people of Gobnascale had yet again to endure 'the charade' of the so
called festival of culture, which is part funded by the 26 county administration!

The IRSP call upon the 26 county regime to withdraw their support for this exercise in sectarianism. They are saying to the Apprentice Boys that it is acceptable to march into communities that don't want them and to display
flags and banners of the various loyalist fascist death squads. They are giving support to this. The Apprentice Boys must not be supported. They
must be discouraged from walking over the feelings of the working class people of Derry who do not want them.
