Let's reclaim the 600 billion euro oil and gas giveaway Shell to Sea blitz O'Connell Street with banners and leaflets on final day of 2011 election campaign Shell to Sea members gathered outside the GPO on O’Connell St, Dublin on Wednesday 23 February, to distribute leaflets to the electorate on the giveaway of Ireland’s oil and gas, Shell’s environmental and safety short-cuts in Co. It seems to me that it's also worth keeping in mind that Article 10 of our written Constitution (Bunreacht na hEireann) very clearly states that "all forms of potential energy" within the Republic of Ireland jurisdiction "belong to the State"; and, for those readers who might not yet realise it, that "Bunreacht na hEireann" literally means: "The Basic Law of the Republic of Ireland" in the Celtic language.
My hope is that our new Government, whatever its form, will be significantly challenged in public (by the opposition) regarding this crucially important social issue on Day 1 of our new Government appearing in Dáil Éireannn: and not a moment later!!
"The law is the law is the law."
