Michael McCann – 1969 Falls Pogroms, Scarman and Revisionism
Michael was born and reared in the Falls baths in the lower Falls area and spent his working life as a car mechanic. He returned to further education in later life and attended Queens University Belfast, where he completed a BA Honours degree in Modern History before going on to attain an MA in Modern Irish History in the same university. His talk is based on full-time research that he has been carrying out over this past two years on the Falls Pogroms of 1969.
The talk will take place in Gort na Móna CLG, Springfield Road, Belfast.
It will be followed by a traditional music session.
