This week Shell have recommenced work, eager to get a move on after the whole TBM-in-a-ditch saga. The Tunnel Boring Machine is still in the Bellanaboy refinery and they haven't made an attempt to move it the last 2km to Aughoose yet. Most of the work seems to be laying a track down from the back of Bellanaboy along the proposed route of the pipeline. So of course we at the solidarity camp have been very busy too: read full story / add a comment

Right, a quick update from camp. The Tunnel Boring Machine is still stuck. Shell's contractors Roadbridge have been trying several different methods, but none working. Currently, it is believed the plan is to build up the road so local residents can get past, then use the main road to bring in cranes that can lift the truck in sections. However, there is resistance in the air... read full story / add a comment

The last twelve plus hours saw protesters in Erris take on one of the largest Gardai operations Ireland has seen in some time – and ran rings around it. The mammoth operation saw hundreds of Gardai and IRMS security trying to escort the tunnel boring machine [TBM] to Aghoos. Yet Shell to Sea campaigners managed, in separate incidents, two lock-ons and used a car to blockade a bridge on the route of the TBM. read full story / add a comment

Shell's haulage was repeatedly stopped by protesters from Rossport Solidarity Camp during today’s day of solidarity with the community in Erris under siege from the imposition of the Corrib gas project. There were three actions at different locations along Shell's haulage route between Aughoose and Bangor Erris, which resulted in a significant disruption to the haulage. The actions were also in solidarity with the reclaim the Land action against open cast coal mining in Scotland planned for tomorrow. http://www.indymediascotland.org/node/27202 read full story / add a comment ![]()

Erris Inshore Fishermen's Association (EIFA) gets a dose of the crabs from Shell and were left scratching on Monday last!: Three years too late, EIFA 'fishermen', whose shillings from Shell have run out were back again on Monday on another begging spree. During this begging exercise by EIFA Shell's begging bowl ended up in the depths of the ocean off Ballyglass Pier and deep sea divers were successful in locating the bowl at co-ordinates 54-15-21 N, 09-53-49 W. read full story / add a comment ![]()

Shell Ireland have announced that they are to carry out more seismic surveying of the offshore pipeline which is supposed to carry raw gas from the sea bed to their valve at the landfall. The survey is scheduled to take place from June 1st 2012 and although they are vague about how liong it will take, they say the survey should be completed by the end of September.
