Only the second Papal visit in 2,000 years by the first non European Pope. Pope Francisco is from Argentina where the United States client state ruled with terror, kidnappings and politically motivated assassination. His papacy appears to have many proactive enemies from wiithin reactionary Catholicism globally and (neo) liberal elites in Irish media & NGO sector. The recent visit was in visual and audio contrast to the only other visit of the papacy to Ireland. Pope John Paul 2nd in 1979 (the year of the Mountbatten assassination, Warrenpoint, punk). What does this tell us about Papa Francisco and contemporary Irish society? read full story / add a comment

In recent years a dear friend was lost to massive heart attack. A young man Paul "Pulit" Carroll, collapsed in his home one evening after work. He would never again regain consciousness and was laid to rest some couple of weeks after.
In his memory and to support his young children, a life long friend who has not only a passion for motorbikes but was also All Ireland champion road racing rider for consecutive years in his motorbike road racing career, Mr Keith Costello will travel the entire country on his motor bike December 14th 2017 to honour his friend and raise funds to support the daughters left behind. read full story / add a comment

Food Not Bombs recovers and shares free vegan food with the public without restriction in over 1,000 cities around the world to protest war, poverty and the destruction of the environment.
Each group is independent and invites everyone to participate in making decisions for their local chapter using the consensus process.
Food Not Bombs is dedicated to taking nonviolent direct action to change society so no one is forced to stand in line to eat at a soup kitchen expressing a commitment to the fact that food is a right and not a privilege. With over a billion people going hungry each day how can we spend money on weapons or war.
A new initiative has been started in Dublin. we appeal for volunteers.
