Below is a statement released by the Maynooth Schools Group this morning. We are
having a public meeting tonight (2nd December) to formally commence the campaign to
reject the two school model that the Minister and KWETB plan to implement in
Maynooth. Indymedia are more than welcome to come along.

The Maynooth Schools Group met last night and have reviewed all that has happened to
date regarding the new school in Maynooth.

We have decided that we completely and formally reject the proposals of the Minister
for Education and Skills, Mr Ruairi Quinn and the KWETB's plans of implementation to

Offered a place on a postgrad course unable to continue due to budget 2012. no job no hope and no independant money to do the masters. Also I have family dependants, so it really feels like a sentence in regards to my future or rather the undermining of career to be financially independent, alas its not going to happen. read full story / add a comment

Kildare Conty Council has ruled that communications antennae and other equipment adjacent to a junior primary school are "exempt development" following a six-month delay.

Antennae were placed at the side of a hotel over several years without planning permission. The most recent installation included two cabinets, antennae and trunked cabling which was installed to go over the roof.

The 280 children at Scoil San Carlo, Confy, Leixlip are being exposed to numerous signals. It is a recognised scientific fact that children absorb 75 percent of this type of radiation into their brains. read full story / add a comment

Management at Green Isle still refuse to engage with TEEU, LRC, NIB, or Labour Court. This despite the fact that they have accepted Irish State Aid to the tune of €43,000,000. Kildare Republican Sinn Féin will be supporting the protest for the Green Isle workers being held in Naas on Saturday (October 31). In a statement Kildare based Vice President Des Dalton said that a war was being waged on working people throughout Ireland.
