Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5I am afraid that when it comes to money, the rights of defenceless animals come a poor second. When the 'trainers' don't have respect for their workers (JLC rates) it is not surprising that they have absolutley no respect for other livng beings.
The few horses who are mentioned as killed on the racecourse, usually when a number are killed at the same meeting, are part of a bigger picture of horses killed off track too. So called thoroughbred horses (in reality inbred) are raced through the meat factories as fast as on the race course. Some sport!!

In the Racing Industry the horses are mere commodities. The horses killed on the track are the tip of the iceberg; thousands of horses that don't make it for one reason or another end up in tins of dog and cat food.
Greyhound racing is on it's way out. Horse racing will be more difficult to get rid of because:
The people participating in it are rich
The people profiting out of it are rich
The people with influence are rich
Same old, same old.
