Protecting Unborn while Born Babies Raped Systemically in Ireland

As someone who grew up in the culture of child abuse in east Galway, which now seems to be leading the country's policy on abortion or more accurately the lack thereof, I have always wanted to ask two principal questions, primarily to the enablers of systemic child abuse in Ireland.

Currently despite all the publicity about the culture of child rape in Ireland, the priority is the protection of the unborn to the detriment of the already born. I ask any decent person, if there still exists such a specimen on our island, with an ounce of nature left in them, to think about what I have written and have the courage to make a reply, that makes sense without getting personal.
Pro-Choice Enablers??
Pro-Choice Enablers??

What can be even be more of a betrayal of a child's trust than child rape, is when other family members, make excuses for the child abuser. Before we concern ourselves with the life of the unborn in Ireland, it might make more sense to concern ourselves with the tens of thousands of children abused, who are already born.

These enablers of the rape of tens of thousands Irish babies, who for decades, thought they might be keeping the family together, or keeping the money coming in but are reality, are still causing more damage to the already abused victims and still causing long-term harm to the child..

Quite often they aren't thinking of the child victims at all but simply choose to stay in a state of denial, to protect their own self interests to prevent themselves from taking responsibility. Its time for these people to move out of the dark ages and into the light.
Which leads me to two questions I have always wanted to get an intelligent reply, from Pro-Life Ireland but have never succeeded. They seem to either censor or are in denial, like all the unprincipled, political parties of Ireland who will not take responsibility or show leadership in this matter.

1.) Can pro-life Ireland accept that Irish born children, should take priority protection over the unborn?

2.) Where was Pro-life Ireland, when tens of thousands of Irish babies were being raped systemically?

despite being "pro life", there's no sign of their organisation at anti war protests either.

I don't see them ever demonstrating at Shannon airport.

The fact is, they are only pro life when that life is inside a womans body. They couldn't give a shit what happens to that life once it gets here.

Slave labour, homelessness, no hospital care, cannon fodder, austerity, nope "pro lifers" have no issues with "life" having to endure any of that.

No sign of them petitioning for a better society based on what's good for that life once it gets there. rapacious dog eat dog capitalism / feudalism is just peachy.

"Pro life" is in practice just a hypocritical code for controlling women's reproductive capacity.

It's just reactionary catholicism. Built into the religion itself (and others) is the idea that the catholic population should grow. Any attempts at birth control go against this fundamental principle. That's probably all that's behind this. The outdated notion that If catholics keep having more children without restraint then there will be even more catholics , and hence the religion will grow bigger. It's pretty stupid. But these religious lunatics will happily let women die in childbirth for this.

Agree and they couldn't even be bothered defend their position..The nightmare is that none of the political parties in Ireland are currently showing any leadership on the matter and will just follow rather than lead. You are correct on the Catholic stuff Fred and it's not by chance that Fascism keeps rearing its head in Catholic societies, as it may very well do in Ireland shortly, as things get worse. I am astounded that Irish women, seem to have such little empathy with their sisters, on so many of these issues. I don't wish to generalize or be sexist but their silence is deafening on, so many issues that directly affect them in Ireland presently, which ultimately affects everyone.

"They couldn't give a shit what happens to that life once it gets here."

NONE OF THEM, in my particular case: apart from my brother who provides me with loans of 500 Euros per month to compensate for the fact that our corruption and criminal ridden Government (Executive, Legislative, and Judicial) STILL refuses to pay me my old age pension, and STILL refuses to provide me with any GOOD REASON for refusing to pay it: because NONE of them HAS ANY GOOD REASON to provide me, or anybody else, with.

But they don't have to have a good reason, because they can all commit crime with impunity, and none more so than the membership of our legal and medical professions: especially of course if the crimes in question are supportive of the banksters: as in my own case, due to my efforts during the past 15 years or to expose the banksters for the outrageous criminals they are. Criminals supporting criminals, that's how I see it: but many of them BIG "pro-life" activists nevertheless.

Consequently, I would agree with you 100% on the point you make in the above piece of text of yours.

Have you heard of Celtic Tiger Penis Soup, it tastes like oil they say ? Will it put some fire in your Irish balls or are there any left anymore on the island or have they all emigrated?.The Celtic Tiger apparently lies emasculated, humiliated its Irish slaves, forced-fed gobbledegook, gombeenery, corruption, bankruptcy and poverty. Everyone left in Ireland is left sucking on the sows sagging, dry, teats.

The vitriol and ignorance from the media pundits and the ordinary brainwashed people, is shockingly offensive to the real Irish people now overseas.. Now, there is a shame on both Irish scum.states James Joyce was right thousands of young people are forced away from both scum states in Ireland. " ... are there any left anymore on the island or have they all emigrated?"

This is a question I have often found myself wondering about since I returned to retire in the Republic of Ireland in 1998.

Although I have never attempted to research the matter in any really focused/dedicated way, and probably never will, I couldn't help noticing certain bits and pieces of information -- which I have come across while looking for other things -- which led me to speculate, in a very rough and ready way, that many of the type of "Irish Celts" -- of the kind which I think you possibly have in mind -- may have been the victims of what, for want of a better term, I will refer to as "cultural genocide".

To the Anglo Norman "ruling elites", the "standard Celt" looked like a "born troublemaker" it seems to me, and they needed, in the worst of a way, to be rapidly got rid of from the whole Ireland of Ireland: from the viewpoint of the "ruling elites" that is, who wished to take over the whole place (i.e the whole Island of Ireland).

A few years ago, I recall being deeply shocked (albeit only for a few minutes or so) on suddenly coming across information which claimed that the main reason Brehon Law was TOTALLY stamped out all over the Island of Ireland -- the task was completed in the mid 1600s as far as I aware -- was because the new "ruling elites" (from you-know-where) felt there was a desperate need for copious amounts of hangings throughout the whole of Ireland: and that Brehon Law presented a major obstacle to that much loved (by some) Anglo Norman "legal process" of the time.

It seems that banishment was normally the worst that could happen to you under Brehon Law (which dates back to 1200 BC or thereabouts possibly): unless perhaps you did something really outrageous like, for example, getting a big, hugely distracting, drunken row started in the middle of the annual, or tri-annual in more recent times perhaps, Great Feast of Tara: which, among other things, was the time and place where the most serious, and most tricky, offences under Brehon Law were considered and decided upon. For anybody interested, some general information on the "Feis Teamhrach" (The Great Feast of Tara) Event can be found at:

The shocking scenes described at the www location provided just below, all took place around the time of the "big and final changeover" in Ireland (i.e. circa the 1650s AD), from Brehon Law to Roman Law (or the Anglo Norman version of Roman Law to be more accurate perhaps):

However, many of the "standard Celt" types probably avoided being exterminated by "using the boat" for escape purposes to other, and often faraway places, and so their particular brand of "Celtic DNA" is now far more plentiful outside of Ireland than it is inside. Although this is just a hurriedly thought out, half-baked theory, I still feel there might be SOME truth in it.

Also, many of the Celts that did survive throughout the several centuries since the Anglo Norman invasion, did so by kowtowing to the ruling elites: so that the "kowtowing" genes may have survived (on the Island of Ireland) far better that the "non-kowtowing" ones have done: and for obvious reasons.

Another aspect of this rough-and ready theory, which recently "come to light" remarks allegedly made by the "late but not lamented by everybody" Lady Thatcher -- regarding the "all of the Irish are liars" comment -- can possibly also be explained by an aspect of this same theory. On recently learning of these remarks of hers, my mind instantly flew back to a story I once heard my father relate in the 1950s: which involved the line: "I can clearly remember watching my father taking the cloths off the "fear breaga" (the scarecrow) in preparation for his 'invitation' to appear before Lord Ashtown at the "Big House" (which was Woodlawn House

It seems my grandfather used to raise the odd extra sheep, cow, and pig, and other farm animals such as chickens, ducks, geese and the like, in ways which he did not "declare"; but, Lord Ashtown (the local landlord in the part of East Galway my family lived in) secretly had local spies, who missed very little it seems. Despite this, it seems that a good acting display, awash with a skilled mix of lies and half-truths, of the "You see I'm already living in terrible poverty, me Lord" kind, while suitably dressed for the "performance", which of neccesity had to take place in front of Lord Astown, in person (at the Big House) -- who was by no means "the worst of them" it seems -- could be the difference between life and death for one or more of the children of the tenants involved. Consequently, the genes of the "skilled mix of lies and half-truths" were rewarded in very significant ways for many of those Celts who survived such times on the Island of Ireland since 1169, and which involved some 30 generations or so, in a straight row.

Which all goes to show, perhaps, that the late Lady Thatcher's "all the Irish are liars" observation -- "God rest the poor woman's soul" as they say here -- might not have been entirely without substance?

More seriously though, there is (I find) a dreadful problem -- at the present time -- in the Republic of Ireland with what I tend to see as entirely "excessive kowtowing", and, worse still, the "I'm all right Jack, especially if I can find somebody else to do my dirty work for me" approach: when it comes to implementing the much needed "open and honest" and "firm but gentle" confrontation relating to "government corruption, crime, cover ups, and impunity" problems which are now rampant here; and, to me, there's something very mean and nasty, and shoddy, about all of that cowardly approach (as I see it), which as far as I can recall, was not present in the 1950s and 60s: at least not to anything remotely like the extent to which it is now. Then, the exact same people who use this cowardly and mean approach, will usually be the very first to "grab at" any benefits which might arise from the efforts of those who try to improve things, and, to fraudulently claim credit for the achievement of such benefits entirely for themselves (though, in reality, they contributed absolutely "sweet f**k all"). Fairly recently I heard an elderly neighbour of mine here remark in a casual conversation: "It's all meanness now, that's the only thing you'll get get from the most of them at the present time." He really "struck the nail on the head" as far as I was concerned with this remark of his, and I know for sure that the Ireland of my childhood was most definitely NOT at all like that. Consequently, it's not (in my opinion) simply a matter of "financial recovery" that we are in need of here just now. Somehow, it seems we also need to "recover" our "lost souls" as well, it seems!! (Maybe it's a question of "When the power of love, overcomes the love of power, 'the people' of Ireland will know peace, prosperity, and happiness once again"?)

While realising and accepting that the above mentioned "DNA theory" of mine is very likely not "100% most exactly correct", or anything even close to that perhaps, nor is the the whole story I myself believe, I nevertheless hope that it might provide some comfort -- by way of a possible explanation (of sorts) -- to those who you have referred to by your "shockingly offensive to the real Irish people now overseas" remark. I know myself, from my many years of living outside of Ireland, the "heart-scald" of being confronted with bad news of any kind which strongly suggested that the "old country" must be "going to the Devil" at a mighty pace.

I'll finish with an old saying I can recall my mother using (during the 1950s and 60s), usually for the purpose of "wrapping up" depressing conversations, on occasions when the outlook for the future here in Ireland did not look great:

"But now, before we finish, I think we might usefully keep in mind the old saying that 'God is good; Jack is earning; and, that the Devil might not be all that bad either'."

Finnerty. A Chara,

I say Finnerty, because even though we may both hail from the headquarters of the Pro-Life elite in east Galway, I'm afraid I have never had the pleasure, despite your honorable reputation in the said locality. We did for many decades, have a green sleeve of the Price of Justice, procured in the town of Ballinasloe by my late father who unfortunately was a blue shirt of the Collins variety.

However, I do need to take you to task on your comments with regards to the kiddie fiddler, the late Lady Thatcher's soul and your take on her comments that "all the Irish are liars." She may very well have been commenting on the Pro-Life crowd in east-Galway and other parts outside the original Pale.

It is my humble opinion Comrade Finnerty that perhaps Thomas Carlyle, British remark in the 1840s, that. A Celt will soon be as rare on the banks of the Shannon as the red man on the banks of Manhattan may have already come to pass, certainly the other side of Ballinasloe.

Ballinasloe may indeed be the headquarters of the pro-life brigades with the evolution of its populance aided by large doses of Electrc Shock Treatment, fistfuls of Largactil and copius amounts of travelers sperm, being deposited in the said locality, after the traditional country fair down through the generations of celebrations, with the local clergy refusing either marriage or baptism, the fruits of the travelling community, since Cromwell banished them to all to both Hell and Connacht.

Let me blunt about it Finnerty, a chara, Thatcher never had a soul and like her sisters in Pro-Life, neither had she a heart. Indeed to quote an elderly travelling man, well acquainted with the Pecker and the Brigids of Ballinasloe, whom I shared a few pints with in the other Lawrencetown outside of Banbridge, neither is their any 'nature' anymore, obviously in Thatcher and her sisters in the town of Ballinasloe in east Galway, leading their legions of Lipstick, trotting all over the sacred island of Ireland. In fact your inspiring article, leads me to believe, that Thatcher's ancestors surely come from Pro-Life Ireland with her considerable knowledge of liars.

In fact Thatcher is not dead I believe, as long as Pro-life Ireland is around.
I have been starting to appreciate of late, the considerable contribution of Norman stock to the body of Irish literature, aside from their contribution with bringing the republican heritage to Ireland.Indeed one of my more respected Irish republicans comrades, formerly a Provo claims that, the only Irish Provo you can now trust is a Prod and they are a rare breed indeed, especially in east Galway, these days.

Perhaps the situation has become so dire in the now fascist Pro-life motherland of Ireland, that the migration of all the Celtic and Catholic genes out of the place is the most feasible solution, to be replaced with some more ethical Provo Prods, who take responsibility with a little more awareness of their antecedents. Perhaps the French family genes of out beloved Percy, the Yeats family genes may be a better basis for progress than the Barnacles.

In fact Mr Finnerty, your contribution put me in mind of Dean Swift who himself spent time in east Galway, almost three hundred years ago in Eyrecourt. Now what would Jonathan have thought of these Pro-Life Nazi's? but then there is much evidence that this Anglo-Irish author of Gulliver’s Travels and A Modest Proposal, amongst others, slowly dipped into insanity during stay in Eyrecourt, where over a fairly long period he crossed the threshold unto insanity because of the political environment of east Galway .Indeed by 1742 his psyche could take no more with five attendants needed to restrain him from tearing out his eyes, so he could witness no more of east Galway which left silent for an entire year. No wonder then, that emigration appears to be the best option for the litter.

It would appear that emigration is the only solution, while Pro-Life hold sway in east-Galway, dictating Government abortion policy in all of Ireland, if we are to finally solve the problem on John Bull's other island, aborting all foetus with Celtic DNA, red hair or curly hair like the Pecker.Perhaps we need to get away from sonar, to have a gawk at the Irish foetus in Ireland and instead to help Pro-life identify any freckles, curls or red hair in sperm, before conception, insert an endoscope without disturbing the virginal east- Galway hymen or causing anymore problem in east Galway with the Brigids of Ballinasloe.

Hopefully Mr Finnerty, you and the editor will recognize this as a typical droll, Ballinasloe, east-Galway rant and have the spiritual tolerance to desist from editing my reply to your masterpiece.I trust you can find a creative solution to claiming the pension that is rightfully yours without a penioner dying on hunger strike in East Galway protesting the many injustices of Thatcherite, Pro-Life east-Galway.

P.S. I include a song by the Pecker which was inspired by Ballinasloe in east-Galway or maybe it was Puck fair but I'm sure you get my drift intoi insanity in a world, that is losing its 'nature'. I'm leaving this spontaneous reply unedited, please forgive the story of my life, my many mistakes. Slan go fomghaill a fear uasail ! . brion

Thank you for your reply, which I've just scanned through.

With the benefit of hindsight, I now feel I should have stated earlier that my knowledge of the Pro Life Campaign does not go very far beyond the information provided about them at:

As with many other such organisations, I (as an individual) apply the UN UDHR principles set out below:

Article 18:
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Article 19:
Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Article 20:
(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.
(2) No one may be compelled to belong to an association.

And that's about the full extent of my particular relationship with the Pro Life Group, and their Campaign.

For anybody interested, the full text of the UN UDHR is available at:

Your reply covers a wide range of issues, and the only other one I would like to comment on now relates to the late Lady Thatcher. I remember coming to certain general conclusions about Lady Thatcher back in the 1980s, which I've never since felt any need to alter. That said, I don't feel it would serve any useful purpose for me to relate here what those views are.

I plan to read through your reply more carefully later on. We obviously have a considerable amount of "common BALLINASLOE ground" between use.

By the way, I really love the photograph of the young lady on the horse at the Great October Fair ( There's plenty of high-quality DNA there I suspect, and in BOTH of the "co-operating as one" life-forms present probably?

If by any chance you expect to be in the area this coming October, please let me know. I'd love to meet up with you for a "bit of a chat" (as they say around here), and as you will no doubt know there is no shortage of interesting meeting places in and around Ballinasloe, especially during Fair Week. Outside that particular week, the heritage site Cafe/Restaurant on the Clonmacnoise site is one of my many favourites in the surrounding area:

Abused children, worldwide. Weak laws for the abuser. Difficulties to find the evidence. Bats at the wheel to not engage in a fact so delicate and difficult to prove, by government authorities. Procrastination, laziness, hypocrisy, defense of economic interests over human life of innocent children, (even in cases of abused adults). All this is the common denominator of the serious problem of rape. So not resolved.
To make matters worse, particularly I think is often the remedy worse than the disease, when the abuser has power, it is much harder to unmask. I think it's a problem without end, and so should be first on the agenda of governments, because it is not easy to solve. You have to work long and hard about it. But with the corruption from political power you do not even dare to dream that this could be resolved.
Now, I can not understand, as parents of children who attend religious schools, knowing now that many religious people are involved in pedophilia, leading parallel lives his faith, and in many cases not even have the decency to hide , and are often seen by the congregation of parishioners who still attend church, as if nothing had happened.
How is it that these parents allow their children to attend retreats and spend the night there, as well as the camps, which are the ideal places for abusers they can exert.
For all this, I just think that as the conditions are right, it is the parents and not the state, at least for now, those who can defend these children.
So the question here would be, and what happens to orphans in orphanages, where the priests are responsible for caring for them.

It is an indictment of the sows with lipstick trotting all over Ireland in their high heels, that it takes a woman from Argentina to care enough to share on this matter in Indymedia ireland. These heartless Irish liars, couldn't give a fiddlers, indeed if the pro-life crowd in east-Galway have their way, the country will be filled with feral abused children, while they look the other way or indeed participate them selves in the wholesale systemic rape of pro-life litters. Then when they are finished with them and they reach pubery, its away off to America with them, to be slaves to Uncle Sam. Mind you, as I was just discussing with Mr Finnerty about Dean Swift and the way the country is heading, they will probably take him up on this 300 year old modest proposal. So lets go to the Dean's proposal in the context of contemporary Ireland and see.

"It is a melancholy object to those who walk through this great town or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads, and cabin doors, crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags and importuning every passenger for an alms. These mothers, instead of being able to work for their honest livelihood, are forced to employ all their time in strolling to beg sustenance for their helpless infants: who as they grow up either turn thieves for want of work, or leave their dear native country to fight for the Pretender in Spain, or sell themselves to the Barbadoes." Can't argue with you there Jonathan, three centuries later nothing has changed in austerity Ireland

"I think it is agreed by all parties that this prodigious number of children in the arms, or on the backs, or at the heels of their mothers, and frequently of their fathers, is in the present deplorable state of the kingdom a very great additional grievance; and, therefore, whoever could find out a fair, cheap, and easy method of making these children sound, useful members of the commonwealth, would deserve so well of the public as to have his statue set up for a preserver of the nation." Well you can just replace commonwealth with REu common market and "all parties' with out pitiful coalition of traitorous Labour. Labour my arse, they're worse than Thatcher.

"But my intention is very far from being confined to provide only for the children of professed beggars; it is of a much greater extent, and shall take in the whole number of infants at a certain age who are born of parents in effect as little able to support them as those who demand our charity in the streets.

I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled ...” Well the Americans haven't changed their thinking and thy're still dictating pro-life policy in Ireland.

"As to my own part, having turned my thoughts for many years upon this important subject, and maturely weighed the several schemes of other projectors, I have always found them grossly mistaken in the computation. It is true, a child just dropped from its dam may be supported by her milk for a solar year, with little other nourishment; at most not above the value of 2s., which the mother may certainly get, or the value in scraps, by her lawful occupation of begging; and it is exactly at one year old that I propose to provide for them in such a manner as instead of being a charge upon their parents or the parish, or wanting food and raiment for the rest of their lives, they shall on the contrary contribute to the feeding, and partly to the clothing, of many thousands." The Coalition would just love you Jonathan.

"There is likewise another great advantage in my scheme, that it will prevent those voluntary abortions, and that horrid practice of women murdering their bastard children, alas! too frequent among us! sacrificing the poor innocent babes I doubt more to avoid the expense than the shame, which would move tears and pity in the most savage and inhuman breast." Stop right there. So 300 years ago, abortion was legal in Ireland but you're using the language of pro life Dean but then that was 300 years ago I suppose.

"The number of souls in this kingdom being usually reckoned one million and a half, of these I calculate there may be about two hundred thousand couple whose wives are breeders; from which number I subtract thirty thousand couples who are able to maintain their own children, although I apprehend there cannot be so many, under the present distresses of the kingdom; but this being granted, there will remain an hundred and seventy thousand breeders. I again subtract fifty thousand for those women who miscarry, or whose children die by accident or disease within the year. There only remains one hundred and twenty thousand children of poor parents annually born. The question therefore is, how this number shall be reared and provided for, which, as I have already said, under the present situation of affairs, is utterly impossible by all the methods hitherto proposed. For we can neither employ them in handicraft or agriculture; we neither build houses (I mean in the country) nor cultivate land: they can very seldom pick up a livelihood by stealing, till they arrive at six years old, except where they are of towardly parts, although I confess they learn the rudiments much earlier, during which time, they can however be properly looked upon only as probationers, as I have been informed by a principal gentleman in the county of Cavan, who protested to me that he never knew above one or two instances under the age of six, even in a part of the kingdom so renowned for the quickest proficiency in that art." So things haven't changed materially in Ireland either except for the breeders being very successful, in that the population in just over a century went up to 10 million. Congratulations ye breeders of Pro-life but then the Brits reduced it down to 3 million in just a few years again with the Viceroyal Villiers in charge, so things haven't changed that much there either.

"I am assured by our merchants, that a boy or a girl before twelve years old is no salable commodity; and even when they come to this age they will not yield above three pounds, or three pounds and half-a-crown at most on the exchange; which cannot turn to account either to the parents or kingdom, the charge of nutriment and rags having been at least four times that value.

I shall now therefore humbly propose my own thoughts, which I hope will not be liable to the least objection.

I do therefore humbly offer it to public consideration that of the hundred and twenty thousand children already computed, twenty thousand may be reserved for breed, whereof only one-fourth part to be males; which is more than we allow to sheep, black cattle or swine; and my reason is, that these children are seldom the fruits of marriage, a circumstance not much regarded by our savages, therefore one male will be sufficient to serve four females. That the remaining hundred thousand may, at a year old, be offered in the sale to the persons of quality and fortune through the kingdom; always advising the mother to let them suck plentifully in the last month, so as to render them plump and fat for a good table. A child will make two dishes at an entertainment for friends; and when the family dines alone, the fore or hind quarter will make a reasonable dish, and seasoned with a little pepper or salt will be very good boiled on the fourth day, especially in winter." So it appears that the pro-life sows of Ireland at that time would eat the litter before puberty, twelve failing which they could then be raped. So they were at it back then. I always wondered how them small cabins in Achill, could sleep an average pro-life family of 20, comfortably in the one small pro-life bedroom.

"I have reckoned upon a medium that a child just born will weigh 12 pounds, and in a solar year, if tolerably nursed, increaseth to 28 pounds.

I grant this food will be somewhat dear, and therefore very proper for landlords, who, as they have already devoured most of the parents, seem to have the best title to the children.

Infant's flesh will be in season throughout the year, but more plentiful in March, and a little before and after; for we are told by a grave author, an eminent French physician, that fish being a prolific diet, there are more children born in Roman Catholic countries about nine months after Lent than at any other season; therefore, reckoning a year after Lent, the markets will be more glutted than usual, because the number of popish infants is at least three to one in this kingdom: and therefore it will have one other collateral advantage, by lessening the number of papists among us." You see even with abortion in Ireland at that time pro-life was still out breeding the prods three to one.. Perhaps east-Galway might consider sending their breeders up north to keep Daly satisfied.

"I have already computed the charge of nursing a beggar's child (in which list I reckon all cottagers, laborers, and four-fifths of the farmers) to be about two shillings per annum, rags included; and I believe no gentleman would repine to give ten shillings for the carcass of a good fat child, which, as I have said, will make four dishes of excellent nutritive meat, when he hath only some particular friend or his own family to dine with him. Thus the squire will learn to be a good landlord, and grow popular among his tenants; the mother will have eight shillings net profit, and be fit for work till she produces another child.

Those who are more thrifty (as I must confess the times require) may flay the carcass; the skin of which artificially dressed will make admirable gloves for ladies, and summer boots for fine gentlemen.

As to our city of Dublin, shambles may be appointed for this purpose in the most convenient parts of it, and butchers we may be assured will not be wanting; although I rather recommend buying the children alive, and dressing them hot from the knife, as we do roasting pigs." Personally I believe the wrong pigs are being roasted.

"A very worthy person, a true lover of his country, and whose virtues I highly esteem, was lately pleased in discoursing on this matter to offer a refinement upon my scheme. He said that many gentlemen of this kingdom, having of late destroyed their deer, he conceived that the want of venison might be well supplied by the bodies of young lads and maidens, not exceeding fourteen years of age nor under twelve; so great a number of both sexes in every country being now ready to starve for want of work and service; and these to be disposed of by their parents, if alive, or otherwise by their nearest relations. But with due deference to so excellent a friend and so deserving a patriot, I cannot be altogether in his sentiments; for as to the males, my American acquaintance assured me, from frequent experience, that their flesh was generally tough and lean, like that of our schoolboys by continual exercise, and their taste disagreeable; and to fatten them would not answer the charge. Then as to the females, it would, I think, with humble submission be a loss to the public, because they soon would become breeders themselves; and besides, it is not improbable that some scrupulous people might be apt to censure such a practice (although indeed very unjustly), as a little bordering upon cruelty; which, I confess, hath always been with me the strongest objection against any project, however so well intended." That could cause division in Pro-life similar to our present Coalition.

"But in order to justify my friend, he confessed that this expedient was put into his head by the famous Psalmanazar, a native of the island Formosa, who came from thence to London above twenty years ago, and in conversation told my friend, that in his country when any young person happened to be put to death, the executioner sold the carcass to persons of quality as a prime dainty; and that in his time the body of a plump girl of fifteen, who was crucified for an attempt to poison the emperor, was sold to his imperial majesty's prime minister of state, and other great mandarins of the court, in joints from the gibbet, at four hundred crowns. Neither indeed can I deny, that if the same use were made of several plump young girls in this town, who without one single groat to their fortunes cannot stir abroad without a chair, and appear at playhouse and assemblies in foreign fineries which they never will pay for, the kingdom would not be the worse." Sounds like paedo BBC propaganda there to me.

"Some persons of a desponding spirit are in great concern about that vast number of poor people, who are aged, diseased, or maimed, and I have been desired to employ my thoughts what course may be taken to ease the nation of so grievous an encumbrance. But I am not in the least pain upon that matter, because it is very well known that they are every day dying and rotting by cold and famine, and filth and vermin, as fast as can be reasonably expected. And as to the young laborers, they are now in as hopeful a condition; they cannot get work, and consequently pine away for want of nourishment, to a degree that if at any time they are accidentally hired to common labor, they have not strength to perform it; and thus the country and themselves are happily delivered from the evils to come." Pension difficult back then too and the Labour Party, just as useless as they are now.

"I have too long digressed, and therefore shall return to my subject. I think the advantages by the proposal which I have made are obvious and many, as well as of the highest importance.

For first, as I have already observed, it would greatly lessen the number of papists, with whom we are yearly overrun, being the principal breeders of the nation as well as our most dangerous enemies; and who stay at home on purpose with a design to deliver the kingdom to the Pretender, hoping to take their advantage by the absence of so many good protestants, who have chosen rather to leave their country than stay at home and pay tithes against their conscience to an episcopal curate.

Secondly, The poorer tenants will have something valuable of their own, which by law may be made liable to distress and help to pay their landlord's rent, their corn and cattle being already seized, and money a thing unknown.

Thirdly, Whereas the maintenance of an hundred thousand children, from two years old and upward, cannot be computed at less than ten shillings a-piece per annum, the nation's stock will be thereby increased fifty thousand pounds per annum, beside the profit of a new dish introduced to the tables of all gentlemen of fortune in the kingdom who have any refinement in taste. And the money will circulate among ourselves, the goods being entirely of our own growth and manufacture.

Fourthly, The constant breeders, beside the gain of eight shillings sterling per annum by the sale of their children, will be rid of the charge of maintaining them after the first year.

Fifthly, This food would likewise bring great custom to taverns; where the vintners will certainly be so prudent as to procure the best receipts for dressing it to perfection, and consequently have their houses frequented by all the fine gentlemen, who justly value themselves upon their knowledge in good eating: and a skilful cook, who understands how to oblige his guests, will contrive to make it as expensive as they please.

Sixthly, This would be a great inducement to marriage, which all wise nations have either encouraged by rewards or enforced by laws and penalties. It would increase the care and tenderness of mothers toward their children, when they were sure of a settlement for life to the poor babes, provided in some sort by the public, to their annual profit instead of expense. We should see an honest emulation among the married women, which of them could bring the fattest child to the market. Men would become as fond of their wives during the time of their pregnancy as they are now of their mares in foal, their cows in calf, their sows when they are ready to farrow; nor offer to beat or kick them (as is too frequent a practice) for fear of a miscarriage.

Many other advantages might be enumerated. For instance, the addition of some thousand carcasses in our exportation of barreled beef, the propagation of swine's flesh, and improvement in the art of making good bacon, so much wanted among us by the great destruction of pigs, too frequent at our tables; which are no way comparable in taste or magnificence to a well-grown, fat, yearling child, which roasted whole will make a considerable figure at a lord mayor's feast or any other public entertainment. But this and many others I omit, being studious of brevity." Certainly food for Gerry Adam's Provo policymaker's thoughts, as an alternative to the bailout. and the sticky Labour coalition

"Supposing that one thousand families in this city, would be constant customers for infants flesh, besides others, who might have it at merry meetings, particularly at weddings and christenings, I compute that Dublin would take off annually about twenty thousand carcasses; and the rest of the kingdom (where probably they will be sold somewhat cheaper) the remaining eighty thousand.

I can think of no one objection, that will possibly be raised against this proposal, unless it should be urged, that the number of people will be thereby much lessened in the kingdom. This I freely own, and 'twas indeed one principal design in offering it to the world. I desire the reader will observe, that I calculate my remedy for this one individual Kingdom of Ireland, and for no other that ever was, is, or, I think, ever can be upon Earth. Therefore let no man talk to me of other expedients: Of taxing our absentees at five shillings a pound: Of using neither cloaths, nor houshold furniture, except what is of our own growth and manufacture: Of utterly rejecting the materials and instruments that promote foreign luxury: Of curing the expensiveness of pride, vanity, idleness, and gaming in our women: Of introducing a vein of parsimony, prudence and temperance: Of learning to love our country, wherein we differ even from Laplanders, and the inhabitants of Topinamboo: Of quitting our animosities and factions, nor acting any longer like the Jews, who were murdering one another at the very moment their city was taken: Of being a little cautious not to sell our country and consciences for nothing: Of teaching landlords to have at least one degree of mercy towards their tenants. Lastly, of putting a spirit of honesty, industry, and skill into our shop-keepers, who, if a resolution could now be taken to buy only our native goods, would immediately unite to cheat and exact upon us in the price, the measure, and the goodness, nor could ever yet be brought to make one fair proposal of just dealing, though often and earnestly invited to it.

Therefore I repeat, let no man talk to me of these and the like expedients, 'till he hath at least some glympse of hope, that there will ever be some hearty and sincere attempt to put them into practice.

But, as to my self, having been wearied out for many years with offering vain, idle, visionary thoughts, and at length utterly despairing of success, I fortunately fell upon this proposal, which, as it is wholly new, so it hath something solid and real, of no expense and little trouble, full in our own power, and whereby we can incur no danger in disobliging England. For this kind of commodity will not bear exportation, and flesh being of too tender a consistence, to admit a long continuance in salt, although perhaps I could name a country, which would be glad to eat up our whole nation without it.

After all, I am not so violently bent upon my own opinion as to reject any offer proposed by wise men, which shall be found equally innocent, cheap, easy, and effectual. But before something of that kind shall be advanced in contradiction to my scheme, and offering a better, I desire the author or authors will be pleased maturely to consider two points. First, as things now stand, how they will be able to find food and raiment for an hundred thousand useless mouths and backs. And secondly, there being a round million of creatures in human figure throughout this kingdom, whose whole subsistence put into a common stock would leave them in debt two millions of pounds sterling, adding those who are beggars by profession to the bulk of farmers, cottagers, and laborers, with their wives and children who are beggars in effect: I desire those politicians who dislike my overture, and may perhaps be so bold as to attempt an answer, that they will first ask the parents of these mortals, whether they would not at this day think it a great happiness to have been sold for food, at a year old in the manner I prescribe, and thereby have avoided such a perpetual scene of misfortunes as they have since gone through by the oppression of landlords, the impossibility of paying rent without money or trade, the want of common sustenance, with neither house nor clothes to cover them from the inclemencies of the weather, and the most inevitable prospect of entailing the like or greater miseries upon their breed for ever.

I profess, in the sincerity of my heart, that I have not the least personal interest in endeavoring to promote this necessary work, having no other motive than the public good of my country, by advancing our trade, providing for infants, relieving the poor, and giving some pleasure to the rich. I have no children by which I can propose to get a single penny; the youngest being nine years old, and my wife past child-bearing."

With east-Galway, pro-life and east-Galway's Labour's Gilmore, dictating current Government policy, to future generations of any possible surviving Irish children burdened with overwhelming debt, along with with mass global unemployment, it really does boil down to the mathematical certainty, that this pro-life modest proposal will become Irish Government policy, as an alternative to child rape in Ireland.

So good woman of Argentina, please understand that this is a typical Irish solution, to rather sticky problem, if the Irish Labour Party, is to continue propping up the failed Capitalist system in a climate of austerity.. I do note you country has apparently recovered from a collapse of your banking system and perhaps you may have some more human solutions, to both our deviant national treatment of children and our banking problems. Ireland has also criminalized prostitution today which I am sure you are already aware will aggravate matters but that's another pro-life issue that interferes with Catholic feral breeding. You are the only female contributor to this discussion, unlike the heartless, fat, Irish pro-life sows with lipstick.

Brian, I find your comment very interesting, and not least because it contains some interesting information which is completely new to me.

That said, I'm not at all sure what this whole article is about, overall that is, from your viewpoint?

Just guessing, and it's wild guessing at that, I get the impression that you may be EXTREMELY angry with some group of people in East Galway.

I feel sure I already know the identity of one of the people from East Galway who you are possibly very angry with, and although the person in question appears to me to be just a "born again eejit" of some kind (in reality), that might not be the way lots of others see the particular person I have in mind: which could of course mean the person is potentially dangerous, and especially if they have succeeded in fooling one or more people in one or more major ways.

Basically, and I hope you won't mind me asking, what is the "Big Picture" from your viewpoint regarding the Pro Life Group?

If it is the case that you are extremely angry with them, what is/are the reason/s exactly?

You don't have to answer this question of mine of course, and I won't be in the least bit offended if you decide not to.

Never is there enough clarification in the media about the abuse of children. This article by Conal Urguhart in the Guardian newspaper today is essential reading because it outlines that the National Crime Agency in the UK have located a global network of paedophiles who have been identified as streaming live child abuse by video at the time the crime is actually being committed. The interaction between the criminal paedophile and the vulnerable children in this case relates to the Philippines.

It is Operation Endeavour and it has spanned 12 countries. The British have joined forces with Australian and US investigators. The UK's National Crime Agency in a two year pursuit operation highlights "a significant and emerging threat", particularly in developing countries. Preda organisation and Fr Shay Cullen have spent decades highlighting the sexual exploitation in the Philippines and the connection to Ireland.

Andy Baker from the National Crime Agency states:

This investigation has identified some extremely dangerous child sexual offenders who believe paying for children to be abused to order was something they could get away with.

Being thousands of miles away makes no difference to their guilt. In my mind they are just as responsible for the abuse of these children as the contact abusers overseas.

Protecting the victims of abuse is our priority and that means attacking every link in the chain, from dismantling the organised groups who are motivated by profit through to targeting their customers

Exploitation of children for financial gain is not acceptable in the past and especially not now. Clarification is essential and people must ensure that they keep themselves informed as to what is morally and legally not acceptable. Children from Ireland or the Philippines or anywhere must be protected from paedophiles.

Nice to see the US and UK banding together to "save the children", filling up the news wire with 24 / 7 coverage of their little sting operation. Then there's the corrie star paedophile. If you want to fill up a news paper and distract the public then there's nothing like the hysteria generated by a paedophile story. It's the modern equivalent of Orwell's "two minute hate"

Meanwhile thousands of innocent children are killed / mutilated in Iraq / Syria / Libya / Afghanistan / central Africa and all the other places they stir up shit in order to control the oil and other resources. Because despite what the media tell you, the people in your governments both here and in the US don't give a rats ass about children, just money and power.

Because the policies these people push in government are all about making children's lives miserable every day by taking away basics like medical care, education, workers rights and welfare from them, pushing them into destitution, just to enrich the 1% and increase the profits of corporations.

However child abuse is perfectly fine if it's not sexual in this world it seems, judging by how many US/UK government policies there are currently doing exactly that. Same goes for the phillipines only more so.
Because the real driver of shit like these live paedophilia shows is poverty, plain and simple. The more desperate people are for money and the greater the disparity of wealth in a society, the more desperate people will get and the more willing they will be to do sick stuff like this to get money. And what's driving all of this poverty? Crony Capitalism, that's what. But you won't hear the media framing the discussion to take account of that, that's for sure!

If any of the rulers of the US / UK were actually serious in reducing child suffering then they'd have to be discussing replacing the current global system with something more oriented towards supplying the basic needs of people instead of one that exploits children on a vast scale merely to enrich the 1%

Poverty is rife in the "free market" phillipines and indonesia, traditional US stomping grounds, where global corporations exploit child labour in special enclaves.
according to wiki:

As of 2013, there are 3 million child labourers in the Philippines doing hazardous work. In 2001 there were 2.4 million. There are a total of 5.49 million children aged 5 to 17 working in the Philippines. 2.46 million (44.9%) of these are doing legal work. 66.8% of child labourers are boys. 2.4 million children did hazardous work in 2001 out of a total number of working children of 4 million. In 1995, the number of children doing hazardous work was 2.2 million, out of a total of 3.6 million.

That's millions of children being "economically abused" by neo liberal policies.

I'm happy this particular group of paedophile scumbags were caught but the fact is, this is just more political justification and PR for increased monitoring and regulation of the internet and spying programs on ordinary citizens. A UK/US government's wet dream.

Paedophilia is the lever they are using to get control over the internet. And when they have that, paedophiles will still carry on being paedophiles, but you will no longer have any internet freedoms.

Paedophilia went on here in Ireland for decades on a large scale without any internet whatsoever. It will continue long after people have given up their internet freedom to a power hungry authoritarian governments in their evolving police states. But the people under most surveillance will be activists and political dissenters, not paedophiles.
