category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Sunday July 20, 2014 23:11author by T Report this post to the editors

Following a massive ground assault on Shuja’iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City that cost over 60 people their lives before dawn Sunday, Israeli forces continued airstrikes throughout the afternoon and evening in every part of the Gaza Strip

Eight Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on al-Rimal neighborhood, a prosperous neighborhood in the western part of Gaza City which is home to Gaza’s largest hospital, al-Shifa Hospital, which has been overflowing with dead and wounded since Israel began its assault on Gaza on July 8th.

The family members killed in the airstrike were identified by the Palestinian Ministry of Health as:
1. Samar Osama al-Hallaq, 29,
2. Kinan Akram al-Hallaq, 5,
3. Hani Mohammad al-Hallaq, 29,
4. Suad Mohammad al-Hallaq, 62,
5. Saji al-Hallaq.

In addition to the al-Hallaq family, two other Palestinians were killed in the attack on al-Rimal neighborhood, identified as:
6. Ibrahim Khalil Omar,
7. Ahmad Yassin

In an airstrike on Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, a fifteen year old girl was killed, and five of her family members were seriously injured. She was identified as:
8. Aya Bahjat Abu Sultan, 15, Beit Lahia

In Khan Younis, an airstrike killed two children and another member of the same family on Friday afternoon. They were:
9. Rayan Taysir Abu Jame’, 8
10. Fatima Mahmoud Abu Jame’, 3
11. Suleiman Abu Jame’

Reports of airstrikes in every part of the Gaza Strip continue to come in, with Israeli ground forces assaulting villages in northern Gaza and neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian medical sources report at least 100 people killed on Sunday, most of them in Shuja’eyya neighborhood, and most of them women and children.

The Israeli Prime Minister was unremorseful for the high number of civilian casualties in a statement Sunday. Instead, he announced a continuation of the ground assault and told Palestinians that the coming few days will be even worse than the past.

As of today the number of people slaughtered by Israeli has now reached over 1400!.

There was a protest today in Dublin outside the Dept of Foreign Affairs in Dublin where a list of the dead -see picture was held up for display.

Despite the number of murdered people, the state and corporate media still give ample space to agents of Israel to gloss over these deaths and to use their PR experts to gloss over it. However when even one Israeli dies the reaction of the same media is to give it wide coverage and much indignation without ever giving a proper context to why this is all happening.

once again if what we are watching through our media, reading through our papers about the obscene war crimes which have been taken place in Gaza. had been taken place in so called democratic, civilized cities of Europe. there would be uproar on the streets. once again we see that the war monger Mr. Blair who acts as envoy. in the Palestinian areas was in London. when these barbaric murders by Israeli military against Palestinians are taking place
yet we have journalist who take their orders from the embassies of Israel. what is wrong with the demanding the expulsion of Israeli Ambassadors with the Mossad security experts, and staff. while the war against Palestinians is taking place. we have to say very loud, that if you opposed the apartheid state of South Africa. then you should oppose the apartheid state of Israel. recognise the right of Israeli Palestinians to live in peace
we should also ask who is afraid of peace. stand in solidarity with the families of Palestinians who have been terrorised and murdered. join in peaceful protests. demand that the minister for foreign affairs takes political action

Yet more terrorism carried out by the Israelis. There are now over 100,000 people in Gaza displaced from their homes. Hundreds have been killed and thousands injured and there is constant bombardment. If this isn't terrorism then who knows what it is.

Again from IMEMC.org

The Ministry of Health said the army fired missiles into the Al-Aqsa Hospital, in Central Gaza, killing four Palestinians, and injuring 40 others. Ambulances also came under direct Israeli fire while trying to move patients to Shifa medical center.

Initial reports indicate the slain Palestinians are one patient and three relatives of patients hospitalized there.

The shelling destroyed the oxygen production unit, the delivery ward, urgent care units and the surgery wards that became nonfunctional due to the Israeli bombardment targeting the hospital.

Doctors at the hospital said the attack caused various injuries, including injuries to Palestinians injured in numerous strikes targeting Gaza.

It stated two ambulances came under Israeli fire while trying to move wounded Palestinians from the Al-Aqsa Hospital to the Shifa Medical Center, in Gaza.

The army is demanding the administration to evict the hospital, and move the patients “to other hospitals”, the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera said.

In related news, the army renewed its extensive bombardment in the Shuja’eyya neighborhood in Gaza, Sheikh Radwan area, in addition to bombarding different parts of the coastal region.

In related news, three family members have been killed, and several others injured when the army fired a missile at a home in the Shuja’eyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

The three have been identified as Yousef Ghazi Hamdiyya, 25, Mo’taz Jamal Hamdiyya, 18, and ‘Aaed Jamal Hamdiyya, 21.

The army fired at least 100 shells into the Shuja’eyya and Zeitoun residential areas, directly targeting home and residential buildings, especially in the densely populated Shuja’eyya neighborhood.

Initial reports indicate various casualties among the residents; yet, rescue teams are still unable to enter the area as the army is surrounding it, and targeting every car that moves, including ambulances.

At least 75 Palestinians have been killed in the Shuja’eyya neighborhood on Sunday and Monday.

The Ministry of Health called on the International Red Cross, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations, to act on ending the ongoing Israeli military aggression, and the deliberate targeting of hospital and medical centers in the coastal region.

Another example of cold blooded murder by the Israeli state. Where is the outcry for this?

From International Middle East Media Center

Yesterday, international and Palestinian volunteers accompanied Civil Defence and other rescue crews, as well as family members, into Shajiya neighbourhood in Gaza. They attempted to locate survivors of overnight and ongoing shelling by the Israeli army.

A young Palestinian man in a green shirt hoped to find his family. He was shot by an Israeli soldier while crossing an alley between buildings. Two additional rounds struck him as he lay injured on the ground. His dead body could not be retrieved.

The ambulance shown in the video was shelled by the Israeli military, killing paramedic Faud Jaber. Dr Mona el-Farra of the Red Crescent Society in Gaza told ISM that, “The Israeli military is targeting medical facilities. 77% of medical facilities in Gaza have sustained damage, some of which have been completely destroyed.”

“They said we would be able to evacuate the injured from the disaster zone, but they have been shelling ambulances,” stated Dr Khalil Abu Foul of the Palestinian Red Crescent, speaking from Shajiya.
