Free Screenings of Forgotten Plague Documentary about ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in Dublin, Dundalk, Galway & Limerick during May, ME/CFS Awareness Month

The Irish ME/CFS Association is pleased to announce that it has arranged for four free screenings of the documentary on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Forgotten Plague, in various venues around Ireland during May, ME/CFS Awareness Month:

- Limerick: South Court Hotel. Thurs, May 5. 11:30 AM.

- Galway: Maldron Hotel, Headford Road. Thurs, May 12. 7.30pm

- Dundalk: An Táin Theatre, Crowe Street. Tues, May 17. 2 PM.

- Dublin: Crowne Plaza Dublin Blanchardstown. Sunday, May 29. 3 PM.

These are the first public screenings of the documentary in Ireland.
All are welcome. Further details are available on the Association’s website www.irishmecfs.org.

Around 12,000 people in Ireland are thought to suffer from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), now often diagnosed under the name Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Symptoms include overwhelming flu-like exhaustion made worse by exertion (physical or mental exertion), muscle and joint pains, sore throats, swollen glands, disturbed sleep, impaired concentration & memory, dizziness and headaches. A particular feature of the disease is that the condition waxes and wanes over time and symptoms can fluctuate a great deal from day to day, or even within a day.

Also, if you would like to do a feature/interview on ME between now and the end of ME Awareness month, May, (or International ME/CFS Day, May 12), we have dozens of sufferers and carers around the country (out of our total membership of 300), all with their own individual case histories, who are available for interview.
