These are extremely distasteful comments, especially the one purporting to come from John O'Grady. We are talking about a real victim of crime here. O'Hares crime is still fairly recent and I am sure it still haunts the mind of Mr O'Grady each day. These immature and sick comments should be removed. They are not humourous.
O'Hare is in my opinion a very dangerous individual who probably has not learnt anything in prison. He should not be relased yet. Apart from the awful act he committed on Mr O'Grady his gang shot a Garda in the stomach and almost killed him. The Guard later left the Force as he just could not do his job afterwards. Garda killers, and those who attempt to kill used to get 40 year in prison. That is how long he deserves, not a mere 15 years.

Dessie has spent 15 yrs in prison, more time than most serve for murder. He is a qualifying prisoner under the GFA.
He has also been examined by 4 different psychiatrists; all of whom judge him to be sane,
and not a danger to the community. Now how may of us have certificates of sanity from 4 different shrinks?

I dont think that he should be released. I agree that most republican and loyalist prisoners are politically motivated and they should be released. However O'Hare is brutish and political motivation cannot explain for his actions.
I think that each should be judged on his actions. Where a prisoner is an unreformed sectarian bigot he shouldn't be let out. Where a prisoner was particularly brutal and sick they should not be released.
I think that the death penalty should be used for the likes of O'Hare to punish his barbarity.
