 Surprised this hasn't been mentioned so BNP article on it attached for people's information NOT because I support the bastards Labour is in retreat, the Tories are an irrelevance and the common sense of the British people is winning through again! That's the verdict from Halifax where tonight the BNP scored a tremendous result in the council by-election held in the Mixenden ward. This is a ward which was contested by the BNP in 1999 where we achieved a tiny 3% share of the vote. The voters in this old weaving Yorkshire town have delivered a brickbat of epic proportions to New Labour yet again! Despite the usual dirty tactics from the local media, despite pleas by the local Church of England representatives, despite appalling and possibly illegal actions by employees of Yorkshire Constabulary (these allegations are being pursued by the BNP's legal team) enough voters saw the reality of the BNP as the only hope for their community. This West Yorkshire town has witnessed the same political changes that have been seen in the past 6 months in Burnley, Oldham, Stoke, Lewisham and elsewhere. On one side we have quite simply the "old gang" parties of Labour, Tory and Lib-Dem with their discredited policies of failure, discrimination and mistrust and on the other side we have the one party that is prepared to challenge the failed policies of the old gang parties and that is the British National Party which aims to bring about a better society for all. Results: Turnout 37.1% BNP 679 Hard graft Newly elected BNP Councillor Adrian Marsden and his team worked hard across the ward assuring people of all cultural backgrounds that the BNP quite simply wants to put British interests at the top of the agenda but that all members of the community will benefit from a BNP councillor being elected. Clr. Marsden the 42 year old father of 7 children told us that the local people had had enough of the anti-White racist attacks which occur almost daily but are ignored by both the craven Yorkshire Police and Calderdale Council. Add to this the recent decision by Calderdale Councillors to award themselves a 43% pay rise and a 18% hike in Council Taxes for 2003-4 it is perhaps not surprising that enough voters expressed the need for change by putting their mark against Mr. Marsden and the BNP. So despite an unprecedented level of smear including a full page attack on Adrian Marsden in the "Daily Mirror" earlier this week and another smear in Thursday's Blairite rag "Daily Express" the voters in Mixenden saw through the media lies and deceipt and gave a firm Yorkshire "two fingers" to the media owners who bed down with Blair and the disastrous "open borders" policy on asylum. BNP take fifth council seat
The BNP has made gains in North-West England
The British National Party has won its fifth council seat by taking a ward
in West Yorkshire.
The BNP won the Mixenden ward at Calderdale Council in a by-election, taking
the seat from Labour.
Adrian Marsden, 42, a father of seven, won by 28 votes, after a recount,
with the Liberal Democrats second and Labour in third.
The result comes after the BNP last year won a seat in Blackburn and three
in Burley, one of several North West towns where racial tensions ended in
rioting.
BBC news correspondent John Thorne said around 150 BNP supporters had led
their candidate "singing and cheering" into Halifax town centre to celebrate
the result.
He added: "The Labour party insist they will win back the seat at the next
election and say this is something that has been whipped up by the BNP."
The by-election was called following the dismissal of former Labour group
leader Andy Metcalfe, who failed to attend the requisite number of council
meetings due to ill health.
The BNP polled 679 votes with the Liberal Democrats coming second with 651.
Labour were beaten into third place with 641 while the Tories polled 214
votes.
The Independent candidate picked up 142 votes.
Ugly people
Alice Mahon, Labour MP for Halifax, said she hoped the result was a temporary
setback for the residents of Mixenden.
"They (BNP) like to prey on people's fears, they attempt to whip up division
against other people.
"These people dress in nice smart suits but underneath them they are the
same ugly human beings trying to bring division wherever they go."
It comes only two months after BNP candidate Robin Evans won the Mill Hill
seat on Darwen Borough Council in Lancashire with a majority of just 16
over Labour.
Among the BNP's policies are "resettlement" of non-whites to their lands
of ethnic origin.
For someone who calls the BNP 'Bastards' maybe a better approach would have been to post the news in a form that was not their words.

Combat 18 thug snatches Mixenden ward byelection in Halifax
The Nazi BNP won its fifth council seat in the country last night. Adrian Marsden, a violent thug with a history of involvement in Nazi terror group Combat 18, polled 679 votes to take a byelection in the Mixenden ward of Halifax.
Marsden was regional organiser of Combat 18 until 1999 when his home was raided by Special Branch officers. His sick Nazi activities included producing a "newsletter" called the Halifax Patriot that celebrated the deaths local Asians and blacks.
A key factor behind the BNP win in Mixenden was the total collapse of the Conservative vote, which dropped from 700 to 214. This suggests that former Tory voters have shifted en bloc to the BNP.
Mixenden is not the first time that the BNP has picked up votes from former Tory voters. Cliveger, a well-off village on the outskirts of Burnley, elected a Nazi councillor last May. A similar pattern was seen at the Mill Hill byelection in Blackburn last November, which was also snatched by the BNP.
There will be a protest against the BNP this Saturday in Halifax town centre at 12 noon. Come along and join the demonstration. We cannot afford to be complacent. We have to confront the Nazis. It's time to fight back.

Sorry for BNP the press release but basically I logged onto Indymedia UK site to see what material there was there, didn't see much after a cursory glance on the newswire and went to the BNP's site to see how they covered it. Just copied and pasted that as was in a rush but in retrospect should have gone to the BBC as Pat C did.
On the other hand I think it important to get across how cocky these people are getting. The BNP might be thugs and Nazis but they're getting too good at election campaigns.

As national holocaust memorial day approaches, history appears to be repeating itself, with the reemergence and rise of nazis, in europe and worldwide. In britain, asylum seekers/refugees appear to be the new jews, to be despised, degraded, persecuted, looked down on, and ultimately endure the rigours of 'processing'. As millions of people flee warzones in afghanistan and yugoslavia, and impending war in iraq, the refugee problem is set to spiral out of control. Blair and bush are cruelly targetting and focussing attention on the poor and unfortunate fleeing victims of our government's destructive and disastrous military interventionist foreign policies, to distract from the real cause of the refugee problem, Blair and bushes global wars. It is only common sense to flee when the likes of blair and bush are bombing the shit out of your village, destroying social amenities and the economic and social infrastructure of your town etc. When your hospitals, factories, homes and schools are reduced to rubble, there is no option but to flee and get the fuck out of the warzone. A mass exodus of refugees, men, women and children, fleeing all the evils that war brings, poverty, starvation, misery, death and degradation. Whole families torn apart, children left to fend for themselves, trekking for miles, hungry and tired, through hazardous terrain and weather just to escape WAR. Yet blair has the cheek to blame and brand refugees/asylum seekers. Blair's government stance with the help of the media, scaremongering, exploiting ordinary people's fear and ignorance, whipping up xenaphobia, and prejudice against refugees, paved the way for the BNP and nazis to gain a foothold in our countries again. As holocaust memorial day approaches it is sickening to see, that the only lessons that those in power seem to have learnt is to copy the discriminatory social policies and practises of nazis and adolf hitler.
