You are all idiots! Do you listen to one thing you have said so far? Do you have an idea in your head that wasn't planted there by Sky News or Fox News or Rupert? And no most 'lefties' do wash, don't have dreads and have jobs. They are mostly ordinary joe and jane biscuits who just so happen to have a firmer grasp on reality than that which has been thusfar portrayed by the clowns posting here!

The author of the original article asks us to "Support Our Allies" - I'd like to ask him / her which allies?

The "ally" which subjugated this nation for 800 years, starved and murdered its people, stole its land and natural resources? The same ally which burned my native city, Cork, to the ground in 1920? The same ally which fired on unarmed civil rights protesters in Derry in 1972 and which continued to commit human rights abuses, shoot-to-kill policies, etc thereafter?

Or does he mean the new imperialist 'ally' which seeks to do the same to so many other small and defenceless countries? which learned from the first 'ally' so well and has become the imperialist power of the 21st century?

I would certainly attend a pro-USA RALLY. People sho come on and say that America does this or that are missing the most vital point. No-one gives a damn!! America executes people. Good, I would rather have one dead scumbag than have him taking up my tax money. If someone was to turn around tomorrow and say lets execute John Gilligan, I would volunteer to pull that switch. Hes guilty, we KNOW hes guilty why waste our money on letting him live in a prison with his stooges.

America invades other countries. So what, do you honestly think the majority of the people give a damn about Afghanistan or Iraq. The only thing we are concerned about is our standard of living and we are right to do so. During the 80s, when Iraq was still fairly affluent and the standard of living was higher, did you see any people in Iraq sending us food packages or offering to help our country out of its economic recession. No, because they were TOO busy loking after number 1. Themselves. The people who come out and spout their info about how Iraq is facing this problem or that problem need to focus more on their own lives. If we are getting screwed, why are you concerned with the POOR people of Iraq.

Whens the rally and where?? I will be there. And no I don't have a white hood or swastikas, because I am not an idiot like some the 'activists' on this page!

Indymedia publishing was never intended as a means to allow the propogation of extreme right sentiments.
I do not think there will be any resistance from the wider assembly of IMC Ireland made up of editorial, technical, writers readers and linked organisations to closer editing till these people learn they can not hide their poison behind false names.

Which part of America do you represent? The God-fearing, arrogant, gun-waving, nationalistic part that tears up international treaties and is threatening to destroy international rule of law...

....or the aware, rational, responsible, and progressive part that is trying, against all odds, to preserve the reality of freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law?

A land in which you can be arrested for wearing a T-shirt is not free. A land in which one can be sentenced to life imprisonment for stealing 3 golf clubs knows little of justice.

A land where media ownership is concentrated in a few hands and where genuine analysis and discussion is often considered 'unpatriotic' does not have a free press.

A land in which less than half of people vote and in which the presidency can be won through manipulation is not a democracy. Neither is a land in which 9 out of 10 elections return the candidate who spent the most money.

In a land where some work 3 jobs to eke out a subsistance living and 75 million people have no right to healthcare people are not equal.

A land that executes its own people, even if they are retarded or under age, does not respect human rights. Neither does a land in which accusation of terrorism is enough to have one 'dissapeared'.

And a nation that attempts to activly sabotage the International Criminal Court and that says the Geneva convention does not apply to it does not support the rule of law. A nation which invades another in defiance of the United Nations operates not by lay but on the ideology of 'might is right'.

If America is power and wealth, then supporting the Bush administration will support the primacy of power and wealth. But if the America you support includes the values of freedom, of democracy, of equality and of the rule of law, then do what you can to stand up to the threat to these values from the autocratic, theocratic extremists who have hijacked America.

America, the real America of freedom, justice, equality and rule of law, today needs the support of all who cherish and value these ideals.
