STOP US/CANADA SPAM!

your article is well written, thought provoking and deserves a place not only on the newswire but in our campaigns. We ·all· know of the evil that is being done in the name of ·western civilisation· on that island.
We also know of the 80,000,000+ children forced to carry arms and act as soldiers.
We also know of the countless millions forced into lives of sexual slavery.
We also know of the 80,000,000+ children estimated to be used as endentured labour.
We also know of the global prevalance of paedophilia.

Now this article was written by someone who appears to be laying the blame for political SPAM to a certain time zone on the North American continent. That is for a good reason. There are several types of SPAM which hit the newswires everyday.

some are religious from cyber evangelicals.
some are ethnic from thinly veiled racists who have succeeded in the last months in placing so many anti-jewish articles and comments using the space opened by legitimate concerns for the state of Israel's war on the Palestinian peoples.
These have in some small part contributed to the changing status of the IMC network in the US. Signs of the changing status and percieved nature of the network have become quite apparant with the Google censorship decision.
some others are very well designed psychological ploys.
These last have a very calculated and negative effect on how IMC develops in new and emergent cyber zones and new countries.
Examples of the last type of SPAM are suicide notes opne of which was posted globally last week attributed to a Finnish writer, another type of "deep psy-bait" is the "CIA,Pentagon,abuse" article, which is designed to "trigger" response in the readers.

NOBODY, in indymedia is immune to "psy-bait triggers", there are many ways of minimising their effect, and in succesful locally highly active IMC communities their effect is short and more than compensated for by "joke/chatroom" postings, which afford a sense of comunal atmosphere. These work in the same way as the letters pages of the Guardian. Mostly injokes, important psy-function.

This problem is "real", and if not dealt with now, will perverse the terms of debate social and political in many new and emerging alternative communities in the real world and cyber.

One of the solutions I am looking at is "positive wallpapering". Trigger words are there everyday, in the last week some of the most regular contributors to this newswire have been effected by them, it may seem arrogant of me to say so, but Kincora has reawakened in the Irish mind- why?

Now I'm not too worried about the psyattacks on Ireland, people there are psy-thick skinned but I am worried about "trigger" word use, and "skizo" word use which effects many of the more fragile readers or contributors.

They cause real suffering.
Jokes and clownery from well known activists do not do this, in fact even if they are annoying they continue to build a sense of community.

We are being consistently spammed by two writers in CET USA/Canada. Their output is heavy with trigger words and bait. If not dealt with they will do more damage to the IMC project and most importantly effect the creation of a truly European IMC info-exchange process.

I am not being paranoid when I suspect that one of these writers or writing teams is operating a security service agenda.

and they are doing a very good job. Their wallpapering and comments are hitting hard.

No sign of any story about children being tortured by the US on the newswire, right. Moved? Gone?

I know it is imperative that the US keep this story out of the media so it's no wonder you sink it. You share their concern. Why move a valid up to date story. Oh, it had to do with Guantanamo and there had been one earlier in the week. I see. No , I don't . This was news. Fresh news. Young children being tortured......that's news, and big news but you zionist arse holes move it and fill the void with bullshit story after bullshit story.

I know Indymedia censors and contributers united are filling space with junk to hide more important stories of global and national importance but this is really rediculous.

It's amazing to think the story I posted about boys as young as 13 being tortured in Guantanamo bay by the US was removed to make way for this.

A pro US/UK/ZIONIST conspiracy......you decide?
