The WHO Pandemic Treaty isn't just a tool of globalist overreach, says Dr David Bell: with its myopic focus on rare, low-mortality outbreaks, it's also really bad public health.

More humour less violence

category dublin | summit mobilisations | opinion/analysis author Wednesday May 05, 2004 17:49author by bonz Report this post to the editors

Using humour to get media coverage

A lot of people can be put off by the violence that can erupt at some of these demonstrations. In contrast the front of the Irish Times on Tuesday shows a woman on at the RTS event dancing with an ice cream in one hand and 2 gardai laughing - more of this type of thing I say!!

I think the humourous side of these events could be enhanced. Street theatre or performance etc is great and I know it has been done before

That front page picture is great publicity for RTS and if people realised that it was a great party more would come along - and that has to be one of the aims??

a new bloc ? the comedy block??

does anyone have any footage or pics of the person who had the snorkle and arm bands and was swimming in front of the water cannons??

Ive only heard about it but not seeing any pics

please upload?

Are you genuinely interested in helping RTS? Email them, sign up to the list, get involved with doing posters etc. They could do with more people who are interested in this sort of thing (many of the ex RTS heads are now involved in more political activities).

Yes humour works but its hard to crack a joke to a pig when he's cracking your head open with a baton.

i'd like to see the black block with matching black umbrellas perhaps, lots more musicians and maybe another samba band too. more carnivalesque masks too please.

however, the guy with the beard and the big cooking pot who caught water and threw it back at the garda was fantastic

I agree and think that humor is a good way to protest, and in most of the cases much more productive.

By the way the person who had the snorkle and arm bands and was swimming in front of the water cannons, was battoned three times just for that reason.
