The sweeping House of Commons reforms proposed by Green MP Ellie Chowns are evidence that the Mrs Dutt-Pauker types have moved from Peter Simple's columns into public life. We're in for a bumpy ride, says Sean Walsh.

When was the last time you saw a pro-marriage programme on the telly?
THE SIMPSONS
When last did you hear Vincent Brown or Marion Finucane or Joe Duffy or anyone else present a show that you might have disagreed with but where someone raised a cautionary note about the wisdom of promoting single-parent families above traditional married family values or such like?
Have never heard anyone promoting single-parent families above traditional married family values (but maybe I'm living on a different planet to you)
As for ther rest of your questions ...... Yawn ...
Wakey Wakey...
Yawning brings fresh oxygen to the brain!!!
You should try yawning more often. Why not give it a go ...
Try a BIG BIG yawn and then read the Article again
Does the fact that someone burned themself to death not merit more intelligent comment
You might get further around here if you lay off the God bothering tone in your posts.Your religion is your own thing,as it is with anyone else.
apart from that, best of luck trying to convert anyone else around here.
Just wait until you're on the receiving end of Family Court "justice" Irish style ......
Who knows maybe we'll read a headline in indymedia: "Lone gunman runs amok in solicitor's office" .....
But it's not very clearly made.
"Does the fact that someone burned themself to death not merit more intelligent comment"
The fact that someone burned themselves to death indicates that they had a serious mental health problem.
He may or may not have had the same political outlook as yourself, and may or may not have been trying to make a statement by his death.
The fact that you're using this mans death to score cheap political points is despicable.
He should be left to rest in peace and his family not have to be reminded of the gruesome details by those trying to make political capital from the most unfortunate circumstances.
You are clearly wasting your time attempting to stimulate idiots like Lone Gunman who appears to be under the impression that you were talking about religion!
To be honest I had never heard of the cases you refer to but am not surprised as I regularly hear from men who are denied access to their children. It seems that anyone who even raises this issue is dismissed as some kind of fascist - John Waters, Geldof etc.
There but for the grace of god and all that ...
if you are so DUMB as to belive you would have a chance in the "girls club" of the Irish divorce court system. You deserve anything and everything you get. I wouldnt get married on this rock in a screamin fit.Go and get married in Europe or the USA ,prefably Vegas.have more fun and if it doesnt work out it is an easy matter to divorce.
But then again you impress me as being an "ah shure it will never happen to me "type.[as 90%of irish men are]
So no doubt the headline you are refering to implies to yourself. As you impress me as being the kind of very fustrated, cant take any critism,ex wife ate a pound of laxatives and spread her legs above your head person.
Use your head .Always have an escape hatch or another way out of anything.
I had no problem finding references to this matter in Google-just leave out the possesive on the word Solicitor.
Skibbereen Solicitor's dousing Petrol ” on Google?
