Tara SOS - M3 to the West

category meath | environment | press release author Friday August 19, 2005 15:43author by spokesman - Tara SOS - M3 to the Westauthor address Meathauthor phone 0863213755 Report this post to the editors

Meath needs Infrastructure but Meath needs it's Heritage too.

There is another M3 Route available which does not pass through the Tara valley. It is 3.5km shorter, passes Tara 5km away, and is €50m cheaper than the current route. It also offers the possibility of linking Trim to the M3.

Tara SOS - M3 to the West aims to increase awareness of the Tara (Gabhra) Valleys history and the benefits of rerouting the M3 to the west of the hill.

There is another M3 Route available which does not pass through the Tara valley. It is 3.5km shorter, passes Tara 5km away, and is €50m cheaper than the current route. It also offers the possibility of linking Trim to the M3.

The Tara Valley is currently being excavated to facilitate the M3's construction. The plans include a 28 acre interchange in the Tara Valley which will be visible from the Hill.

Our aim is to have the M3 rerouted to the west of Tara, and embedded in the landscape. It is cheaper, shorter and more cost-effective.

Meath needs Infrastructure but Meath needs it's Heritage too.
