Déjà Vu : Déjà être : Déjà ecouté... "Sharon's Passion"

category international | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Monday January 16, 2006 21:56author by ipsiphi Report this post to the editors

so seen, and been and heard before"

It would seem the great unseen powers so often ascribed the responsiblity for planning the co-incidences so many see politics and culture of local and global nature, can not find a suitable day to finally lay to rest Ariel Sharon.

Unsurprisingly therefore it is reported this evening that he has opened his eyes though still in coma as a response to an audio tape of his grandson's voice.

For this to be a truly scientific proof of either Sharon being alive or more accurately still not undead we would have had to learn that more audio tapes were played.

I presume that no doctor in Israel will risk their future reputation and perhaps careers by suggesting at this stage a compare & contrast experiment with differing stimuli.

Ah! You see? play him the best of Yasser Arafat's speeches on mp3 and he blinks.
Whereas you play him Nassar pre-yom Kippur war on reel to reel, he doesn't blink, but we do sense extra electrical activity in the Broka's cortex.

Sharon is not dead, nor is he living.
Sharon is now "Undead".
And we witness the sad befuddlement of European commentators and newspapers types as they write the obituary without the death. Some moments before Yassar Arafat died in Percy Hospital on the 11th day of the 11th month (Armistice day to mark the end of that great war which never ended) he too opened his eyes. But the stimuli as reported to us, the "onlookers and spectators" were different.

Yassar the warrior who spoke that funny Egyptian arabic which might so tickle Sharon's Broca's cortex, was the single bank account holder of the entire Palestinian Authority's budget. You'd wake a man up from slow hell for that.

¿wouldn't you?
But at least he died on a resonant day. & I ruefully admit afforded me a chance to be decent and say "rest in peace".
http://www.indymedia.ie/newswire.php?story_id=67424 Thats the thing with warriors, they find "REST" and the peace so many others hope follows, so terribly difficult.

Perhaps the unseen and so rumoured omnitpotentates of newsworthy conicidence might help him "forward" to that final flag draped moment, just before the March 28th elections. And one presumes that Sharon did not ask to be buried in Jerusalem. One of the most interesting rights to yet be articulated by any legislature which I noted in the last year, was article 19 of the proposed Catalan "estatut" : "to die with dignity". I hope whomever is elected to lead the Palestinian and Israeli peoples in whichever "state" they are found, will consider the deep meaning of that right. Because after a long "think" and "reflection" of this "Levant Death Event" which is lets be honest "so seen, and been and heard before" I reckon neither Palestinian or Israeli are going to get warrior leaders again. There were precious few deaths with dignity, and precious few lives worth the ethnic / religious / political passion.

Gaza will need this year as much water as last. So that it may grow crops and good things to eat. & that water might only come from Israel.

40% of Israel's children are arabs and that percentage will not decrease and they are as entitled to something good to eat as any other child of the "problem state".

& some day behind that wall or in front of it, they will all realise that "simple binding truth".

So at end of this ruminating opinion rather than analysis, I wonder publically are there after all more people alive in this great blue world, who don't want to see Ariel Sharon die after all. Who would now cheat the warrior of the diginified end. Who now are the great unseen powers keeping him

{" undead "}

that the audio tapes played to the undead to move his eyes, were :-
the voice of Omri his grandson.
the voice of Gilad (also his grandson)
and symphonies of Mozart.
(put him through the search engine)

* As Palestinian security forces in the occupied territories vote today, its timely to look to Israeli affairs again. 58,700 security types are voting between Saturday and Monday so they can do loads of overtime on January 25th, when Palestinian civilians cast ballots in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. That mass deployment scheduled Wfor ednesday is to prevent political violence. Jan 25 will see Fatah (the party left by Arafat) fight Hamas.

* Being his usual "rabidly anti-israeli" the prime minister of Iran, as well as announcing the withdrawl of Iranian capital and investments from Europe in response to escalation of the "nuclear thing" has suggested that "if Europe opened its doors Israel would be empty". This really is quite curious. You see? Give him time and he tweaks the old pan arabist anti zionist position. This is because he isn't an arab.

*An opinion poll published in Haaretz suggests that the party Sharon formed is still ahead of Likud in voting intentions. "However, the results do not necessarily indicate that Kadima voters are not pleased with Olmert. When asked whether they agree with the sentence, "Olmert is Sharon's successor," 73 percent said they did. Among the overall population, though, only half of all respondents see Olmert as Sharon's heir. This too, is a positive result from Olmert's perspective."

*it really is quite curious what you get if you put Mozart through the imc ireland search engine.

*it was revealed this week, that in fact Sharon's eventual burial site had not been organised. His aides say he will come off the respirator in a few days. If he can breathe on his own this will mean he be more "alive" than "dead". Truly the miracles of science.

its obviously a bit like getting into a swish club.
They look at your CV, trainers, credit card, & maybe even take bakshish to decide if you're evacuated or not.

3 days ago the Swiss were reported out just as indeed the Irish were:-
http://www.swissinfo.org/eng/top_news/detail/Swiss_nati...05000
Today the Irish are reported getting out and the Swiss didn't actually fit on the ferry to Cyprus.
http://www.swissinfo.org/eng/top_news/detail/Evacuation...68000

Someone is telling lies. Big fat porkies no less. & even though France has deployed troops and the British have docked a warship - NATO has made no declaration. Is this an EU military force evacuating again & again Europeans or is it a new coalition of the willing? Whatever it is - it has nothing to do with either dead leader of middle east politics Messrs Hariri or Arafat.

Doctors at Tel Hashomer hospital near Tel Aviv reported Sharon's kidneys as collapsing this afternoon. In the last five hours it has attracted the interest of obituary writers the world over including myself.
http://www.swissinfo.org/eng/international/ticker/detai...57000

So much has happened since he went into coma no? Worth an extra paragraph at least appended to a little article which complemented in its time the 9 part "Hariri Game" series (c/f http://indymedia.ie/article/77195 ).

the Irish President her excellency Mary mcAleese remarked that she'd be up for being the chief of staff of an Irish military presence in the Lebanon just like we had for 23 years. The Irish minister for defence 9mm Willie O Dea got upset because he's the boss of the military and we don't put in soldiers without voting about it. Well actually..... that was the case till a little while ago.... Mary Mc Aleese isn't allowed talk about soldiers unless they died at the Somme - its written in the constitution.
http://unison.ie/irish_independent/stories.php3?ca=9&si...14403

"This is what's going to happen next"

(1) A lot of EU money is going to get poured into southern Lebanon, and our soldiers are going to go there too and begin by protecting what's left of our investments and civilians as a bonus, and end up doing what Israel asks them to do -

(2) Ariel Sharon is going to die & get a state funeral, and lots of people may not want to go but then we'll know where they want to bury him -

Ireland will send flowers.

Could support what is happening in lebanon and send peace-keepers there?

As to Ariel Sharon , the failure of Zionism and the war of aggression that is trying to create a monster in the midde -east and supported by the Bush/Blair/Bertie regime is indicative of the obscenity of failed civilisation and of greed.

*Bertie still refuses to condemn the people who say "If you are not with us , you are against us"*

We witness in our failed democracy and lack of leadership that only two political parties have condemned the Gaza and Lebanon incursions Vocally and publically.(sorry three).

That Fine gael did not allow members to attend the 100,000 anti-war march in Dublin at the build up to amd onset of The second Gulf War.

*It is not cowardice it is collusion*.

Dermot Ahern is being questioned by the EU about rendition flights through Shannon Airport.

Leadership is lacking. I will say it again . FF is a bureaucratic fiddling service for big business interests and is made of fools and cowards.

five parties have condemned the war in lebanon.

Bertie Ahern has condemned the murder of civilians in the Lebanon.

however He has not condemned uS foreign policy which drives the beligerency and incursion into that region.
Widely reported news states that the US have given the Israeli's one week to complete the task at Lebanon.

The refusal to look honestly at the causes of war and not the effects or in US hawk terms : the collateral- is part of the cowardice of the current regime inIreland, which is intimately associated with the 'turning a blind eye' to rendition, despite the reports from the EU and amnesty that we are collusive in beligerence and human rights abuses.

Our media is full of disturbing pictures and reports of leafletting by the aggresors in this war which stand uncondemned by the Irish Government. the US foreign policy which carries the keynote message of fear , oft repeated is , "if you are not with us , you are against us".
This is the opening of another front in another war, that would see a strong leader call in the uS ambassador and making the opinion of the Irish people known.
Instead Mr ahern welcomes Jeb Bush to our country and allows human rights abuse to pass us by.

Bertie Ahern has not condemned the war in Lebanon. he has alluded to civilian casualties. he has not summoned the US ambassador, nor the Israeli ambassador to his office to condemn the war.

don't even have an opinion. Yet I'm restless enough to share it with you. Easter isn't just about roman & greek men dressing up, or Spain moving a fraction of its collateral assets about on the street. It's about the Holy Land too. I just wanted to ping something. send a signal. get my name in there.

I do believe this is part of the way to peace. neither proven to be paved with good or bad intentions. redemption. Yep. you get millions walking behind that banner & I'd hope to be there.
