Labour has appointed Becky Francis, an intersectional feminist, to rewrite the national curriculum, which it will then force all schools to teach. Prepare for even more woke claptrap to be shoehorned into the classroom.

Shell ousted from Russian oilfields

category international | environment | other press author Sunday September 24, 2006 22:40author by R. Isible Report this post to the editors

Guardian UK: Blair wades in to Russia oil crisis

The Russian government is pushing Shell out of the Sakhalin Islands oilfields using environmental arguments. This has the happy side-effect of stopping Shell (and its Japanese partners) and Exxon from being able to raise prices.

Blair has in turn (as the unofficial mouthpiece of US policy) leaned on Putin in order to try and keep Gazprom (the Russian state energy company) from gaining complete control of the oilfields. This appears to be unsuccesful as Gazprom is in negotiations with Indian shareholders of the Sakhalin-1 project to buy them out. The Russian government has explicitly threatened to revoke Shell's license for Sakhalin-2 and Exxon's license for Sakhalin-1. Currently Shell's license is temporarily suspended for environmental breaches, specifically disruption of Western Grey Whales and salmon.

Prof. Peter Odell is quoted in the Guardian speculating that a Russian takeover of Shell is possible and that a EU-wide move towards state-owned energy companies is a probable outcome of the current energy climate. Ironically Statoil (Shell's Norwegian partner in the irresponsible development of the Bellanaboy extraction project) is quoted as a model of what national governments should be doing.

From whom does Ireland's government take their advice?

the more they stay the same.Gazprom,a State company that ousted it's somwhat profitable comprtition and nationilised Yukos. They shove it's chairman of the board off on trumped up charges into the arse of Siberia.
Where he is held incognito
Moscow is now more expensive to live in than Tokio, with a huge gap between rich and poor.Place is run by the Mafika, and it is hard to tell wether it is the mafika in the Kremlin or the mafika on the street.
Russias claim to be a superpower is diminishing daily with it's falling birth rate.Parts of the place are now deserted, and Russia has banned the use of condoms or birth control to it's pouplance.Great for the spread of social diseases and AIDS.Pollution in Moscow would make LA pollution look like a fresh breeze im comparision.A country that is open or so it claims, requires registration of your cell phone ,laptop, or any other comms system. Ironically INdymedia is banned in Russia. It i s considerd seditious!!!
GPS systems are prohibited and it is a seven year jail sentence for possesion of one.Get a visitors visa for every place you want to visit.
All in all contrary to Tottis claims the place is a corrupt dump that no one really sane wants to conduct busisness in.You end up spending a fortune on armed protection or another fortune for protection. If you dont car accidents are very common and easily arranged as Mr Ray Burke found out to his cost.
Multi nationals are very reluctant to deal with the place,so Russia is welcome to it's natural resources. If it can get it out of the ground or from Siberia, without destroting totally the enviroment.

Its about time the russians take control of their own natural resources. For to long they have been humiliated by the west. Thanks to its nuclear deterrent an US/EU invasion could be avoided until now. But the americans are quite busy trying to destabilize russia by other means. NATO is already well placed along Russia's borders .ie Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Hope they won't stop at Shell but kick out the whole lot.

This whole region is a powder keg of Political intrigue, wether its with Highland Gold, registered in the Channel Islands, which the Russians closed down, the convienient Hellicopter crash of General Alexander Lebdev, sucessor to Gorbachov, Yeltsin instance, or the Japanese requisitioning of the Kuril Islands back, or indeed the Chinese sabre ratling over Taiwan, let alone the small question of North Koreas, Nuclear issue. Blair will have to do some fancy footwork to outstep the Siberians, just as the third Reich found out,no doubt his best course of procedure will be Bill Clinton for advice, as Bush is a dangerous lunatic,in this region, Blair is therefore going to be skating on thin ice in the permafrost. My word of advice is this .Nobody beats the Russians, Only the Russians beat the Russians ! G.D Flynn, from unpublished Diaries, Dr. Proff. Aime Van Santen Molitor. Univ Prague. Erasmus Rotterdam.
