offsite link Riots Could Sweep Streets of Britain if Immigration Not Curbed ? Rachel Reeves Sun Aug 04, 2024 09:00 | David Craig
Riots could sweep the streets of Britain if immigration is not curbed, Rachel Reeves said in 2016. Yet the now-Chancellor's prescient warning was nowhere to be found in Labour's response to the current disorder.

Until this week, Keir Starmer told us the criminal justice system is at capacity, says Laurie Wastell. Turns out, we can clamp down on crime and disorder just as long as the target is the reviled white working class.

- Animals Need a Voice In Legislation

category dublin | politics / elections | event notice author Saturday October 14, 2006 13:31author by Jo138 - ANVILauthor email info at anvilireland dot ie Report this post to the editors

THE NEXT ANVIL meeting will take place in the Rathcoole Suite, City West Hotel, Dublin, on the 15th of October at 2.00pm.

WE ARE ASKING FOR AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR IRELAND'S ANIMALS.

Animals Need a Voice In Legislation (ANVIL Ireland) was established to ensure proper care and protection of all animals in legislation, using the democratic process. The main aim of our group is to give animals the voice they need in the Oireachtas.

ANVIL Ireland recognises animals as sentient beings, with basic needs, and the ability to feel pain, stress and fear. We also recognise the moral responsibility that we, as a first world country, have towards them.

We acknowledge the great work being done, under difficult circumstances, by rescue groups and other concerned parties around the country. It is vital that all future legislation takes account of this.

Animal welfare bills in the past have been defeated as a result of powerful lobby groups who have a vested interest. ANVIL Ireland aims to address this situation, and ensure a balance in all future Oireachtas debates and decisions.

An important aspect of our work is: to encourage public debate on the present status of all animals, and the questioning of legislation and practices that fail to address their needs, or prevent their suffering.

ANVIL Ireland intends to: examine the political and legislative system; establish where reform is needed; and lobby for this reform.

ANVIL Ireland does not support any one political party, it is not a vehicle for any welfare or interest group. It is hoped to unite all interested and right thinking people, under one banner, to give animals the strongest lobby group possible. Maybe then we will be able to achieve the changes they need.

Are there any animal members, or is this a case of humanoid substitutionism? Who are you to speak on behalf of any animal if you're not one yourself? Have you asked them what they want or is this a case of human knowing best?

Granted, I have never met any of the ANVIL gang, but I am quite sure that they are animals themselves, since I have never heard of a plant or mineral posting on Indymedia...

but aren't we human animals?

the gap that separates us and other species in terms of dna is not very wide.
