- First time communities speak with one voice in Limerick
The five area-based Community Development Projects in Limerick City have called for all-party support for John Fitzgerald’s recommendations for improving life for people in the city’s disadvantaged communities.
Volunteers and workers from the five Community Development Projects welcomed the new report at a press conference held in Limerick City Hall at 1pm today (Friday). The report’s author sat alongside the groups as they made their appeals.

Its good to see the community groups coming behind John Fitzgerald and his proposals. The independent councillors also support them. This is genuine community support and only the knocjkers are against it. Lets work together and demand results from the parties.
he was given the task of Dublin City manager and almost suceeded in splitting the
council over the waste charges.
he was brought into Limerick to ensure that FF are returned.
He was brought in for the election.
now if the people of Limerick cannot do it for themselves without an FF bulldog to ensure
media and garda co-ordination then they get what they deserve - a further erosion of
democracy and a local bureaucrat appointed by a government which has neglected
community needs for nine years.
Nanny State is not the word.
The state has ignored the implications of local democracy for countless
years refusing directly elected mayors- now you have a plant co-ordinating
through political interests their direction of a community.
Well done!
Vladimir Putin could not have done a better Job- jayzhus, of course its all over
the media, they are run by the local politcal and commercial interests.
All of the councillors support him. Including the independents who unlike you have a mandate from the people of Southill and Moyross.
