Magical Girl Gig - Das Wanderlust (uk) + Estel (ire) +tbc

category dublin | arts and media | event notice author Wednesday July 04, 2007 16:51author by Magical Girl Report this post to the editors

Das Wanderlust + Estel + tbc
Boom Boom Room - above Pat Conways pub, Parnell St, Dublin 1

Das Wanderlust - Underground Wrong Pop.

Their first single 'Orange Shop' released last year was Marc Riley's (BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6) Number 1 Single of The Year (and had me ordering it as soon as I heard it). Thier next Single 'Sunday School' was recorded round friend's houses, they remain very diy and they shout and play 'barbed-wire-sawing-through-the-brain-pop' because they like to. Come, let them play for you.

Estel - Dublin's Underground Queen and Kings

10 years and 4 albums on, Sarah Sheil is still the main songwriter of Estel's much loved 'nightmarish, screwed up, psychedelia drenched punk rock' sound - but also to blame are Bushie, Tommy and Graham.

magical girl gig this saturday

Sweet Jane - take our music - it's free.

Waterford's Lydia Des Dolles and Danda formed Sweet Jane last autumn to write music they liked rather than music to be sold. They freely give out their EP and allow downloads from myspace. Hippies. Creative freedom and anti-capitalism gone too far.
