Taylor Swift has produced an album so bad it's making everyone notice how bad the other ones are. It only goes to show, says Prof James Alexander, that no one remains of interest musically once they hit 30.

We have far too much lime in our water Sean which means changing the old heaters often as lime blocks the pipes etc. The meeting was very interesting and I feel that they know of all the problems. The guy sure was good and on the ball.
A special meeting of Cooley Environmental and Health Group was held in The Strand Hotel on Sunday 11 November 2007. After a breakfast which commenced at 11.00 a.m. the small attendance discussed "Water Matters," a recent international initiative to create an international policy on water strategy in the Neagh-Bann River Basin. This is a cross-border region which extends from the Antrim coast in the north to a point in Co Louth south of Ardee including Carlingford Lough and coastal areas of Co Louth further south.. The web-site www.nbirb.com provides a map of the region and the framework for water policy creation and the status of the policy thus created. All the relevant documents are available for download, including all the relevant EU documents, on the site. Cooley Environmental and Health Group expects to hear a lot more discussion on the issue of water in the coming term.
Difficulties in the Cooley area have been observed arising from the fact that the water supply is mostly hard water. It is sweet to drink but it has a devastating effect on kettles, washing machines and heating systems. Sean Crudden suggested that a dual system should be considered. "The ground water in Cooley is hard but the surface water is soft. And rain water in the countryside was universally used for washing when I was young," he said. Archbishop Hynes pointed out that the pressure of water in the Greenore supply is low - too low for many practical purposes including industry.
It was decided to expand the list of participants for the group’s winter workshop to include an expert person who might outline the problems that can arise from anti-social behaviour/bullying on the internet. It was also decided to investigate with the prison authorities the possibility of including a person in the workshop who is serving a prison sentence. Readers of indymedia.ie will be aware that the theme of the workshop is "Anti-Social Behaviour." The workshop is due to take place in Omeath on Saturday 26 January 2008.
The next meeting of Cooley Environmental and Health Group will take place on Sunday 9 December 2007 commencing with breakfast at 11.00 a.m. in The Strand Hotel, Omeath, Co Louth. All are welcome.
