SOLICITORS UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT.

category national | crime and justice | event notice author Wednesday January 09, 2008 15:21author by Setanta - Victims of the Legal Profession Society Report this post to the editors

PUBLIC MEETING IN DUNGARVAN.

Solicitors in Waterford and adjoining counties will be put under the spotlight at a meeting to be held in the Park Hotel Dungarvan. County Waterford on Tuesday 15th.January 2008. at 8.00 pm.

Are solicitors and the legal profession worthy of our confidence and trust ?
Is there a need for an ombudsman to investigate a legal profession that has seriously lost it's way.?
Do we have a corrupt Law Society? Do we have corrupt solicitors?

Solicitors in Waterford and adjoining counties will be put under the spotlight at a meeting to be held in the Park Hotel Dungarvan. County Waterford on Tuesday 15th.January 2008. at 8.00 pm.

Victims of the legal profession from all over Ireland will highlight the discrepancies in the legal system, and the arbitrary way in which the law is dispensed.

A radical review of the whole judicial process is needed as well as the appointment of an ombudsman to investigate rogue elements in a profession that has seriously lost it’s way.

The public are becoming increasingly frustrated and upset with the anomalies, injustices and delays that they have to encounter in their dealings with unscrupulous solicitors.

Many have been badly let down. The general public have at least the right to expect that their business is conducted confidentially, professionally and in the client’s best interests. Unfortunately, the opposite is often the case.

They experience delays of obfuscation, indifference and downright bad manners. Many are left with the distinct impression that their solicitor is working for ‘the other side’.

There is a serious concern about the Law Society of Ireland, and it’s handling of complaints. Supposedly a regulatory authority to look after the interest of the public, it is increasingly perceived to be protecting the Legal Profession.

To many, the Law Society is working hand in glove with the denizens of Blackhall Place - a cartel working to protect the wealth, privilege and opportunism of a group of professional people intoxicated with greed and power.

Too many wills disappear, or are altered with legal connivance. Property transactions and inheritance issues, accordingly, are causing grave concern to people who have lost all confidence and trust in the legal and judicial system.

These honorable professional people, who are pledged to protect the rights of the individual, are undermining the very democratic system that is fundamental to all rights.

On 100th.anniversary of the death of Michael Davitt, the founder of the Land League, the general public should once again assert their rights to their property and their deeds. They should not be intimated by a group of professional people who have become parasitical on society.

Change is needed, and needed soon, and such is the enthusiasm for radical reform amongst the public, that meetings across the four provinces are planned for the coming months.

The message is loud and clear, if you have a doubt, join together in a thirty two county movement, and secure your fundamental rights and your future.
