And Kerry is the cream, and Kerry is the Kingdom! When are we going to read a Kerry South edition of the Ulster Anarchist? A 32-county United Ulster is where it may end up, with lots of chuckles from the Kerry jokers.

Anarchists say they dont recognise any states - then they say they recognise not one but two in Ireland.

We don't recognise the legitimacy of states. Obviously we recognise the fact that states do exist. These are totally different questions. The existence of two states on the island is simply a fact and publishing a regional edition is purely a tactical issue to address it. If we could afford a bigger paper, we probably would come up with a different solution.

In any case, publishing a regional edition of a paper is so commonplace that it ought to be completely unremarkable; The Kerryman, for instance, has different editions for Tralee, Kerry North, and Kerry South The sky has not fallen in.

"We live on a small island with no more than 5 million people in total. Why two distinct editions of Workers Solidarity?"

Well it's a little more than 6 million these days. Still you make a fair point.

"What's next? A Cork edition?"

That might make sense. To be fair to the WSM, who often have paper covers slagging off Bertie and the rest of the chancers in the Dail which are quite good, having a paper about the southern bourgeoisie wouldnt make as much sense to hand out up north. I think its good that they are tailoring their propaganda to their local audiences and they are quite obviously still opposed to imperialism and the british occupation,

I dont know what it is about the left, but they cut their own throats at any given opportunity. Anarchists say they dont recognise any states - then they say they recognise not one but two in Ireland. Of course they will alienate the bulk of left wing opinion in Ireland with this pandering to sectarianism.

...it is the fruit of a partitionist mindset. (See above comment by G for an example of this)

"This means that they recognise the two states. A surprising position for anarchists to take."

er...Northern Ireland is a seperate state to the Republic of Ireland. It's a fact.

Rampant privatisation of public services, workers rights and wage levels always under attack, politicians on the take, religion still having an un-necessarily undue influence, racism. The issues are fundamentally the same, only the details and the flavour (and the accents) may differ slightly.

And the issues in Cork are different as well. Why not federalise? A different edition for each part of the country. Sure, what do workers in Cabra or the Liberties have in common with workers in Turf Lodge or Knocknaheeny? For starters, they speak differently.

By the way, how come it's an 'Ulster' paper if the intention is to pander to the the N'orn Iron statelet? Does it carry news from Monaghan or does that go into the 'southern' edition?

The WSM recognise the fact that political issues in the North are different to those in the 26 counties.

Well, it makes a complete nonsense of the slogan 'no states, no borders'!

This is partitionism.
