A special concert in aid of the next Gaza floatilla in Belfast
Féile an Phobail's August Féile 2010 will this year host a very special concert with some of Ireland's greatest young musicians in aid of 'Ceol go Phailistín' (meaning 'Music to Palestine'), a very important cause. All door proceeds on the night will go to support the next Gaza floatilla. Tickets are just £7, for this very special night of music, and in support of a very important cause.

Performing on the night will be Pauline Scanlon, who has released two internationally acclaimed albums with Sharon Shannon's Daisy Label and Compass Records in Nashville. Pauline has also been signed to Sony Music (Ireland) with partner in music Éilis Kennedy as Lumiere, whose self-titled debut has brought them acclaim at home and overseas.
Joining Pauline is Donogh Hennessy. A skilled guitarist and former Lúnasa band-member, Donogh has toured the world round, ranging from Japan to New York, and from Paris to Cork. His skills are simply not to be missed!
“Martin is actually a large sort of small god or deity who appears on earth at intervals of probably thousands of years” - this hugely interesting and revered performer who goes by the name of Martin Brunsden will be accompanied by his beloved double bass, Bertha. A well-know sessioner, Martin's wife Dee also plays with our heroes here at the office - Kíla!
Belfast born Méabh O’Hare first took up the fiddle while attending Bunscoil Phobail Feirste in Andersonstown, West Belfast and went on to study with Monica Smith, and legendary fiddle Maestro Sean Maguire, with whom she performed on joyous occasions. A documentary maker and arts promoter, Méabh's playing tonight will make this collaboration a very special event.
