Hunt Saboteurs to demo at PRII awards over hunt group RISE nomination.

RISE group nominated for PR excellence for their failed pro-hunt campaign.

AOHS to demonstrate at PRII AWARDS.

Pro animal abuse group RISE has been nominated for the shortlist of the Awards for ‘Excellence in Public Relations 2011’by the Public relations Institute of Ireland.
Rise who ran a campaign of lies, intimidation and false claims has made the shortlist for this year's PR Awards for Excellence.

What RISE promote!
What RISE promote!

.
The AOHS will show its disapproval with a planned demonstration at a gala luncheon and awards ceremony which takes place at the Conrad Hotel on 17 June 2011.

‘Awards are normally given in honour of success. Yet the RISE campaign was singularly unsuccessful in achieving its aim – to prevent the passage of a law banning stag hunting. So just what have the RISE group been nominated for? Possibly promoting abuse of wild animals?.

The RISE campaign consisted of little besides outright lies and scaremongering slogans directed primarily against the Green Party and designed to convey the message that if stag hunting were banned, the rural way of life, as we know it, would disappear.

This heavily funded campaign was an example of how powerful vested interests can distort public debate and attempt to subvert the democratic process. Despite the best efforts of Liam Cahill who was paid 900euro a day to cynically manipulate public opinion on this issue, the RISE campaign failed, full stop.

It is unbelievable that a respected organization like the PRII would endorse such a morally bankrupt campaign. We appeal to the PRII to withdraw the nomination of the RISE campaign from the awards shortlist. It is an insult to include them with the other worthy and reputable organizations.’
Shame on the Public Relations Institute of Ireland. This will not help their Public Relations as most normal people abhor animals being mutilated and killed!!!
