A new development in hunting circles has the obviously hard- up North Galway hunt touting for business on the website DONEDEAL.
Punters are invited to hunt, terrify and dismember foxes in Galway for the day and to celebrate St. Valentines day at a hunt ball with the hunters on Saturday night for 250euro a person. They will have about 75 people out hunting that day. All monies will go to the North Galway hunt.

Please boycott the Westwood Hotel in Galway. Also please send your thoughts on wildlife abuse to both the hunt and the Hotel.

In bitter, thick fog resembling the miasma hanging over the economic abyss that is now Ireland, some 300-400 protesters, yesterday, marched from the Cathedral through Eglington St and Shop Street to the Spanish Arch plaza voicing their anger, contempt and sense of betrayal for a government that has spectacularly lost the trust of its people but like a stinging, dying wasp is still hell-bent on forcing through a budget of unprecedented savagery that saddles and cripples the Irish people with the private gambling debts of rogue banks and a millstone "bailout" of usurious, ruinous interest rates from the IMF and EU. read full story / add a comment

Yesterday, the UN Human Rights Council issued, a 56 page damning indictment of Israeli actions on the night of May 31st last when the Gaza Freedom Flotilla was attacked in international waters resulting in the murders of 9 humanitarian activists and serious injuries to many of the other participants. The report recommends the prosecution of the Israelis concerned but led by the US and the Quisling Palestinian Authority, no doubt, the "international community" will be strenuously resisting this.? The notion is as absurd as it is reflective on how cravenly this Junior coalition partners will act do to stay in power.
The Greens are not the tail that wags the dog; they are the illegitimate pup which it might have been wiser - in political terms - to have put down the moment he was seen to have been overly frisky
