In an unusual move the British Medical Journal has gone against the establishment by daring to publish something that breaks the Covid narrative to some degree with an article titled:

Covid-19: Researcher blows the whistle on data integrity issues in Pfizer’s vaccine trial

In the last 18+ months we have see the reputation of one institute after another been thrashed and that includes the scientific establishment as they kow tow to the global tyranny to push through the Covid scamdemic. Just last year we saw the presitigious Lancet journal publish a completely fraudulent article purporting to show hydroxychloroquinewas not effective when it turned out the data was fabricated and they were forced to re-withdraw the paper yet the WHO used the paper as a reason to call a halt worldwide at the time to the use of the highly effect drug. That separate story is told quite well in this interview with Dr James Todaro at https://delingpole.podbean.com/e/dr-james-todaro/

There have been numerous other blatant frauds carried out and it has become quite clear that scientific establishment is beholden to corporate interests and big capital as any other and it is against that background then that it is so unusual for the BMJ to defy these powerful interests read full story / add a comment

Search engines have come to dominate our lives and Google which is by far the best known has by far the largest marketshare estimated to be anything from 70% to 90%. These search engines have become powerful tools for the corporations owning them as it gives them immense power to shape peoples lives since they control the algorithm controlling what you see when you search the news, check facts or try to search for information which they exclude from the search results because it does not suit their agenda. They also know incredible amounts about their users from their preferences, political leanings, lifestyles, ailments, age, location holiday preferences and practically every other aspects of them. It is time we took our privacy back and with the launch of a new decentralized and community based search engine called PreSearch.org there is now a chance that the tide is turning.

I do not know much about it. But I think science policy nationally and internationally is a delicate balance. It's difficult to form a picture of who is doing research, what are their objectives, what are the rewards. My impression is that science is mostly controlled by commercial interests. What is invented mostly is what can sell. You have copyright and secrecy backed up by law to preserve the pitch for profit. It is easy to see the sense in this because it provides an incentive for scientists and their employers to spend time and money on research.

But there is also a negative aspect to this way of doing things. Manufacturers are not wholly induced to innovate. They might see more profit from concentrating on already discovered products. Pharmaceuticals are, perhaps, an example of this. Instead of looking for new and improved drugs, they may see more profit from continuing to produce older drugs even if they are less than perfect with lots of unwanted effects. read full story / add a comment

In light of the slight interruption to normal life that is going on it is worth reassessing some of the known common knowledge about Big Tech and it's related area Artificial Intelligence (AI). Unless you have been asleep for the past 10 years, everyone will have heard of Edward Snowden who revealed in quite extensive detail the level of ongoing surveillance carried out jointly by the US and UK intelligence agencies, the NSA and GCHQ. Prior to his disclosure any suggestion of widespread spying was met with derision. Overnight the world changed and it was widely accepted as fact by everyone. What's more is that the depth and scale of the programs were far bigger than even the pessimists had imagined. It was this more than anything which has tarnished the reputation of technology as something that was always good to a demonstration of it's dark side. The state as such has dirtied its reputation with regards to technology.

Over half a million households in rural Ireland are missing out on broadband because of a disastrous privatisation policy.

Up to 1999, the telephone network was run by a state company, Telecom Eireann. But the Fianna Fail government decided to copy Margaret Thatcher and sell it off. Ever since then, disaster has piled on disaster.

Instead of providing long term investment to install broad band, a series of private owners simply asset stripped the company, which had been re-named Eircom. read full story / add a comment
