UN Press Release, 27 JULY 2020 – An additional 6.7 million children under the age of five could suffer from wasting – and therefore become dangerously undernourished – in 2020 as a result of the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, UNICEF warned today. According to an analysis published in The Lancet, 80 per cent of these children would be from sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Over half would be from South Asia alone. “It’s been seven months since the first COVID-19 cases were reported and it is increasingly clear that the repercussions of the pandemic are causing more harm to children than the disease itself,” said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore. “Household poverty and food insecurity rates have increased. Essential nutrition services and supply chains have been disrupted. Food prices have soared. Religious leaders representing over 95% of Puerto Rico's population wrote Congress urging that the island be included in the next stimulus plan. Job creation, disaster relief and protections for the vulnerable were lifted in a letter signed by leaders of the Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Christian (Disciples) and Evangelical Churches. Although mechanistic studies [*] support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks, evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza. Almost two weeks ago (May 18, 2020) Moderna put out a press release stating that they had seen positive results to the first phase of their COVID-19 vaccine trial. The news sent their stock prices surging, as the pharmaceutical company is working with Dr. Anthony Fauci and the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases which Fauci heads. If the lockdown is killing more people through suicides than Covid in California then you can be sure it is doing much the same thing everywhere else and that includes Ireland and the UK. It is time now for people to release the true figures on suicide here in the last two months and not some covered up figure. We can be sure that the manipulated is so bad that even those who have died by suicide have been marked as Covid deaths. Now this breaking news from California by doctors who have got a spine to stand up and say it as it is have spoken out. Unfortunately few doctors have done the same here. This story is from RT.com but is very relevant to people in all the lockdown countries as it is reported suicide rates are up at least 20% if not more. The media completely ignore the fact that the lockdown is killing far more people than the disease due to the total disruption to normal life. This story covers just one but important aspect of that, mental health.
Suicide remains the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. The ‘house arrest’ we’re all under is leaving vulnerable, mentally unwell people alone with their demons.
I start every day with a small cocktail of moderately powerful medication. Quetiapine and amitriptyline washed down with a black coffee. There’s little doubt about breakfast being the most important meal of the day for me, as it literally keeps me sane. read full story / add a comment |
