Minister Michael Ring Welcomes the launch of Picture Perfect- A Complete Photo Scanning and Online H

category galway | miscellaneous | press release author Monday September 05, 2011 11:25author by Robin Chedgey - Picture Perfectauthor email robin at pictureperfect dot ieauthor phone 087 6772891 Report this post to the editors

A new service has been launched in Co. Galway offering a range of photo to digital services including unlimited free photo scanning of loose images up to A4 in size. The free service includes image enhancement and hosting of a personalised online photo album on www.pictureperfect.ie.

The service is the brainchild of local entrepreneur Robin Chedgey who decided to take his fate in his own hands when the firm he had worked with for 7 years went into liquidation in 2009. Despite the continued pessimism about the economic climate, Robin feels that people need to start treating their circumstances as an opportunity.

"Everyone has something to offer, but you need to be unique, and you need to be extraordinary. When you can create something that is accessible yet captures the imagination and improves people’s lives, they will respond now more so than ever."

Robin had this to say when comparing Picture Perfect to global photosharing giant Flickr:

"I'm not trying to take Flickr on at their own game - I'm going to outdo them by offering a complete solution that as such a huge brand they could never dream of."

In response to the launch Michael Ring, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport said:

"I would like to congratulate and wish Robin all the best in the setting up of his new business Picture Perfect, particularly in these difficult economic times.

The entrepreneurial spirit is still very much alive in Ireland. It is encouraging to see new businesses being set up.

The new scanning service will provide a great facility for people with pre-digital printed photos and will enable people to share some of their pictures online or by email with other family members. The online photo album hosting will ensure the preservation of treasured photos by providing a backup.

Again, I wish Robin every success in his new business."

The service is aimed at anyone with pre-digital photo prints but in particular families – especially siblings who want to share a single set of photos, people who want to protect their photos by having a backup or those who want to turn their old photos into photo books, canvases or other photo products.

“The idea for Picture Perfect grew from conversations with people who had a real need - a complete service that helps them to truly enjoy their photos from their past that they would never otherwise get around to doing anything about.” says business owner Robin Chedgey.

“People love to share their latest photos through Facebook, Flickr and now Twitter. Now we intend to make it just as easy for people to share their entire printed photo collection in a couple of clicks.”

Picture Perfect was started in 2010 by Robin Chedgey in Shrule, Co. Galway and also offers premium photo scanning services as well as photo restoration to customers worldwide. A full range of photo products can be purchased through the online album using the customers own photos.

“Most people have a collection of treasured pre-digital prints at home, and our philosophy of ‘from the shelf to the web’ comprehensive service makes us unique in Ireland, and makes the process much more accessible. It no longer has to be time consuming or expensive.”

Picture Perfect has been approved for grant aiding by the South West Mayo Development Company.
