About time yous fellas in the north got your act together, unfortunate though that Maskey couldn´t welcome the ground on Saturday.

Time the left in ireland adressed itself to the sectarian nature and imperialist significance of the state in the north, and republicans followed through on their espoused anti-imperialism to facing-down US imperialism, the military-industrial complex. In other words: British Army; OUT! Richard Haas; OUT! Shorts; OUT! Raytheon; OUT!

Shorts are on their way out, just like H&W. Through selfish deliberate mismanagement by fly by night big shot rampaging buisness executives property developers lining their pockets, aided and abetted by greedy politicians.

BOYCOTT THE ANTI-BRITISH ARMY MARCH
by Eric - United Class Thu, Feb 20 2003, 2:41pm
Call to Boycott the March 8th protest in Lisburn
People should boycott the March 8th march on the British Army HQ in Lisburn. The march "against war" will only stir up sectarianism. We need to unify the working class and this will only divide us. Boycott the march and build a genuine anti-war movement. Note the protest has attracted no support from any left group not the Socialist Party, Socialist Workers Party, Anarchists, Workers party, Communists etc. Well done to these groups. Boycott it to defend workers unity.

So who *is* organising it?

And what have been the reasons (ifa any) given by these various groups for *not* participating? Can you give us more information and we might be able to make a more informed choice?

i just wanted to ask these questions as i would go along to the march as i live in Lisburn but just to clarify what the reasons were doing it for. are we going it to highlight the fact ordinairy lisburn people in the army are going to iraq for no reason other than oil then i'll be there.

More details please. This seems like a hoax message. How can I support this or encourage others to with so little information?

author by Durutti Columnpublication date Thu Feb 20, 2003 18:37author address author phone Report this post to the editors

It should also highlight the fact that the British Army is an Imperiast Army?

Or would that be sectarian?

Remember when the SP wanted a British Army recruiting stall in QUB?

the SP trying to wriggle their way out of picketing a British Army Base.

i simply asked what the reasons are i will help picket the HQ there but we have to get support of lisburn people, a mate of mine has been posted to kuwait for the war already. ordinairy people from lisburn are in the army for economic reasons ie not being able to get a job anywhere else etc. that's what we need to highlight. and that the money for the army would be better off going to public services like the firefighters, nurses, doctors, teachers and for better infrastructure for buses etc.
so, can somebody clarify details tell me if it is a hoax or not?

author by John Murphypublication date Fri Feb 21, 2003 17:36author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Its simple really. Like all anti-war protests. It's against the war on Iraq. No blood for oil. Assemble 2.00pm at the entrance to British Army HQ The British Army will be killing people in Iraq shortly using resources that could be use for human beeneffit else where. We can stop them if enough of us have the will. If thats too difficult for you then don't come.

I think you're a spoof.
