We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

British Crusaders use artillery on crowd in Basra

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday March 26, 2003 00:03author by James McKenna Report this post to the editors

After the first British soldier in the ground conflict was killed by a crowd rioting against the Illegal Imperialist Invaders , the British use artillery on crowd and claim it was Baath party putting down an "uprising"

The only uprising is against the evil invading thugs sent by George Bush and Tony Blair and helped by the Irish Government.

A civilian death toll has not yet come in but it is expected to be large.

Crowds had been marching on British army encampments to protest against the illegal invasion

A US warplane has dropped 1,000-pound (500 kilogram) satellite-guided J-Dam bombs on military sites hidden in civilian buildings in Basra, British officers say.

Serbian generals are in jail for this sort of thing. It is called War Crime and we must stop it.

Hasam Siri of Al Jazeera speaking from Basra at 09.05hrs GMT 3/26/03

Hasam Siri: "Evrything is under control and the whole population is rallying behind the Government forces"

Q: Has there been any uprising by the Shia against the Ba'ath party in Basra?

Hasam Siri: "None whatsoever, you know the main thing is that ALL SH'ITE LEADERS HAVE CALLED FOR A JIHAD against the British and American invaders, therefore the jihad is considered as the holiest of wars against the Americans and the British.....".

At this point the line was cut

the address of al jazeera is http://www.aljazeera.net or http://www.aljazeera.net/english. Unfortunately the site has been hacked by the US/K colonisation force and hence has been intermittently out of action, but try it anyway.
