The BBC's Director of Comedy wants to "save the sitcom". But the sitcom is only endangered because most of them stopped being funny. As To the Manor Born reminds us, British comedy has lost its class, says Finlay McLaren.

offsite link Thank Lockdowns for the Worst Budget in History Sat Nov 22, 2025 13:00 | Will Jones
We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

offsite link Taxpayers Are Charged for the BBC Whether They Like it or Not Sat Nov 22, 2025 11:00 | Charlotte Gill
It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

(Watch your back because others are watching it too)

Tactics denominated as "Lilliputians" and "invisible" give an appearance of spontaneity to what is in reality a huge anti-establishment articulation - Short and mid-term objectives for Europe, United States, Latin America and India Some of the subjects which will also be raised: * Worldwide Social Forum and Venezuela * Movement Without Land: radical, cool headed and mystical * Communist Cuba in the Worldwide Social Forum * Worldwide Social Forum: the "volunteerism" dilemma

Friends,
What is behind the current protest movements which expand worldwide? Are
they spontaneous or coordinated? To which objectives do they respond? Do
they really seek "world peace"? Why are they silent regarding the crimes of
the dictatorial regime in Iraq; the cruelties of the Colombian
narco-guerillas; the violations of political and religious rights in
communist countries such as China, Cuba, North Korea & Laos, the
persecutions against Christians in Muslim countries; and the pro-Castro
despotism of Venezuelan President Chavez? We hope that this article about
the recent World Social Forum, which we distribute under our exclusive
responsibility, will shine the light on all this. Hope to hear from you. To
send us an instant message, please, follow the links below. Cordially,

there is a big bunch of us
we do everything.
as the poster knows it really is just a few thousand people with a big table and sweeping brushes pushing around models of protesters, occupations, cacerola pots and pans, and then we have hackers, popular culture boffins, internet by the source code, and surgical "anarko-implant" placed by friendly grimacing NHS style consultants in the brains of the politicians, bildebergers and the fortune tellers that do cable Television.
(i've a broomstick).

now do tell me

Who is behind the extreme right "Liberty" global campaign?

you are everywhere well not quite.

"Liberty" stopped broadcasting from Europe to the Arabic countries in 2001. The USA consulate in Barcelona just confirmed as of three days that Radio Liberty and the "liberty foundation" [magazines, internet stream propaganda fount] would not seek to use the beach transmittor at Paya beach again.

the "liberty" project has a few offices globally one on Wall street in fact, and they provide some reliable information on the levels of democracy in the world. They were assesed as a CIA front in Eastern Europe for backing the Liberty radio porjects that broadcast below 88.5 FM. And now are just as much a part of the international info-flow as well ....egotist I psi Phi.

so there you go dear reader ignore 'em.

... these are the arguments which you must be preparing to challenge, among many others, against the war, for the Irish Social Forum, and for the challenge to the thinktanks/propaganda machines of the right thinkers and actors. Also watch your backs, because even though many of you may laugh it off, the likes of the lilliput strategy, WSF etc are generating concern among neoliberal sorts like mcdowell who like to throw in the commie acusation in public and recall the psychological/ideological suggestions imposed on most brains, but who are also building strong strategies that many of you have already alluded to over the past couple of years.

good arguments by gaillamhed etc on this link.
