The BBC's Director of Comedy wants to "save the sitcom". But the sitcom is only endangered because most of them stopped being funny. As To the Manor Born reminds us, British comedy has lost its class, says Finlay McLaren.

We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

Is Tony Blair the Village Idiot - or Is He Being Blackmailed by Bush?

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday April 06, 2003 04:11author by Cheryl Seal Report this post to the editors

If He's Being Blackmailed, Just What Is the Skeleton In His Closet?

Bush's Dad was the head of the CIA - still has CIA ties and pals. So, the dirt that these guys could have on ANYONE would curl your toes. What could they have on Tony Blair potent enough to make him behave like a minion to "Little Hitler"?

OK, I've been wondering about this now for weeks, so I may as well just get it out in the open. Tony Blair's behavior has been, from the outside looking in, all but insane over the past several months. He appears to be following Bush right over a cliff, yet defending Dubya every step of the way! He appears willing to risk his career, his country's security - hell, the world's security! - the European Union's unity, and thousands of lives to support Bush. Yet Blair has never struck me as the village idiot, nor has he struck me as someone who wanted most of the British people, esp. the young, to find him repulsive. This week, even after fragments of the marketplace bomb were found and shown to be clearly from an American smart bomb, Blair was induced, no doubt directly by Bush, to stand before Parliament and lie - on record - about the bomb, still disclaiming it came from the "coalition."

So what gives? Here's my theory. Bush's daddy was the head of the CIA and many of his personal pals are former (and, I assume still current) CIA people. These guys must be privy to one helluva an international grapevine, and thus have the "dirt" on just about everyone who is anyone. Put two and two together: Bush's dad and Bush himself by extension have access to all kinds of CIA dirt.Blair's reckless behavior fits that of a man who is being blackmailed - and blackmailed over something that he is so terrified of having revealed he will do nearly anything, perhaps short of murdering someone himself, to hide. Conclusion: I bet Blair is being blackmailed by Bush.

So, what could it possibly be? Let's face it, after Lady Di and Charles, heterosexual extramarital exploits wouldn't have enough shock value with the press to motivate Blair. Unless of course, he's been captured on film visiting a call girl once a week, dressing in a poodle suit and barking while she spanks him (what an image!).

But in Blair's position, given the attitude of the stodgy Parliamentarians and his idol the Queen, I think the subject of blackmail is more likely to be homosexual liaisons - from his deep past (youthful experimentation) or more recently (he is a closet gay). I say, come clean Tony!! The world would prefer an honest gay man far more than a dishonest Bush toady any day. If London rejects you, you can always come to gay-friendly Baltimore!!!

Mr Putin who served as KGB director and rose through all ranks to achieve that position always greats Mr Bush Jr. with a small talk joke
"Your daddykins was head of the CIA".
Mr Bush Jr. always replies "that was a honorary position".
and it was.
and only for a year.
the Bush CIA profile is over-estimated most of the time, the Bush clan are just as likely to be targets of dark machinations as any one else.
And Mr Putin has access to a global grapevine of let us say a certain proved history of efficiency.

Your CIA links may prove to be relevant one day soon, however, you have to look no further than Blair's wallet to find that it is still full of British Pounds rather than Euros. Blair has a great deal to gain or lose depending on the outcome of this 2003 scenario. If the US topples Iraq, and replaces the Euro currency with US dollars for oil trade, it will dismantle OPEC and retain US dollar status as the world-wide accepted currency for oil and control 20% of the oil reserves ....thus the Euro will devalue and when Britain makes the change,... the pound will buy a great deal more Euros. Should the reverse outcome happen, the Euro (also note that it is based on the gold standard, the US dollar has not been since 1971!) will dominate the oil market, and become an extremely valuable currency for trading nations. This scenario would lead to a devalued pound relative to the Euro, and Britain would lose a great deal of its wealth almost instantly. Keep a close watch on Japan, Venezuala, Iran and Saudi Arabia, as they are all in extremely sensitive positions relative to the outcome of this scenario.

Some of the British cabinet seem to be kiddy-fiddlers.
That may have something to do with it.
And there seems to be a connection with the Dunblane massacre too. The asshole who carried that out was a paedophile, and arranged contacts for politicians.
If anyone has links to that story please post them.

(Was it Macmillan?) the then british PM behaved in an almost identical manner at the beginning of the Vietnam War, egging on and sucking up to the big boys for a slice of the imperialist cake, and then getting cold feet. Must be genetic.
