Europe's first 24 hour action day against the War machine sort of thing

April 10th 2003 is a day of General Strike action and boycott against the War and it's machinery in Barcelona. The largest unions are calling for two hours. The smaller for 24 hours.

demonstrating for 24hours are the anarkosyndicalist groupings. (well we would)

12h: march. Plaça Universitat. Unmasking those who finance the war: pillow fight outside the offices of BBVA in Plaça Catalunya. Principal investor in Spanish arms companies. Fiscal objection, outside the income tax department (Hacienda) in Plaça Letamendi: not even one euro of your taxes to pay for the war.
12h: Reus: concentration in Mercadal square
12:30h: Barcelona: concentration in Universitat square(CGT)
12:30h. Sabadell: concentration in front of the council
13:00h: Barcelona: concentration at plaça Sant Jaume (UGT)
13:00h: Girona: demonstration plaça del Lleó
14:00h. Horta: popular lunch in BP petrol staion (Tajo street)
14:30h: low-cost and healthy food... outside McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, etc...
17:00h: bicycle protest at BP petrol station (C/Sardenya,Diagonal), leaving from Pl.Sant Jaume
18:30h: Barcelona: CNT demonstration at Universitat square
19:00h: Concentrations in fornt of the councils of each town (CGT Catalunya)
19:00h: Gràcia: concentration at Rius i Taulet square to go to Catalunya square
19:00h: Horta: concentration at Santes Creus square
19,30h: great human mosaic. gathering in Plaça Catalunya to illustrate our repulsion of the war
19:30h: Tarragona: manifestation in front of "l'estàtua dels despullats" (Rambla Nova)
19:30h: Lleida: demonstration plaça de Sant Joan
20:00h: Reus: demonstrations, from Mercadal square
22h: cacerolada, back to making all the city's pots and pans ring out against war
22:00h: Horta: cacerolada in the camp of avda. de l'Estatut

(that's all over the city)
also participating are the other cities of Catalonia and the Catalan speaking Spanish Region of Valancia and Balearic Islands.
these regions together with Catalonia proper a small slice of Aragon and a small stretch of the presently French Pyrennes are traditionally known as "Paisos Catalans".
