being the press statement made to Indymedia, BCN free radios, Catalan and Spanish Newsagencies, TV3 Btv TV Badalona, TVE Radio Cat, and the assembly at Placa Sant Jaume yesterday at about 4 o' clock. There was a general assembly at 5pm as well. English translation and Catalan original.

Statement for the eviction of the Self Maintained Peace Encampment at Placa Sant Jaume.
Barcelona.

Has the war in iraq finished?
American tanks fire on journalists.
There are more than 200 wars happening in the world.

We came to the place of St Jaume the place of all, we came to invite all the world to speak and coexist. Here was something that came from within us.

The old people got together and showed us interest, gave us ideas, the wise spoke and informed the procession of personalities, volunteers and activists maintained the life of Placa Sant Jaume.

The social struggle began afresh in a new way, with information as a weapon which only requires the voluntary involvement of speaking, listening and thinking.

The work of all citizens has maintained a open public debate, the neighbours, the shopkeepers, the various pacifist and anti-militarist movements and individual citizens have worked together contributing ideas, food and material for the camp, whilst from the camp they were in turn offered information and dialogue.

Is it that it is not legitamatizing enough that the citizens avoid the pitfall of the lack of Democratic dialogue in this alternative spontaneous way? Have we not now shown that we are all together? That the citizens as the institutions defend that idea?
Why do they wish us gone? They have given no explicit reason. The War is said to be over. What shall come next?

Our intention is to permanise a self/managing encampment with the work of all, a valid alternative to the society of consumerism which is neo liberal Capitalism. To establish thus an open space for Public, Social and personal dialogue.

Barcelona’s achievement has been the public cry why was raised for Peace and we can not permit that this cry for Peace is manipulated and falls back into the spiral of consumerism as so many other cries which they have silenced through eviction.

Our intention is to establish a constant social dialogue and an example of sustainability with the means at our disposal. We wish no public money, with that which is waste of the First world we can function perfectly. And with time so better the space for all.
It is in front of the two most emblematic public houses of power that we as the people we are, put at disposal our public space for dialogue.

-----We free the silenced voices.
-----We give them the means and freedom of expression that they deserve.
-----We promote the relationships between people of interexchange and of learning. And we exalt in all these moral values and ethics that slowly capitalism has crushed.

Many thanks to all who who passed by Placa Sant Jaume, who have stopped to listen and to all who have collaborated to make this place, the place of all.

Ha acabat la Guerra d-iraq?
Els tancs nordamericans disparen als periodistes.
Més de 200 guerres estan succeint al món.
I les guerres socials desperten consciències adormides.

Vàrem venire a la placa dan jaume la llar de tos I totes, varem convidar a tot el mon a parlar I a convuire. Aixo era le que ens sortia de dins.
S’ajuntà la gent gran amb interés ens donaren idees, paralren els savis ens informaren la desfilada de personalitats, voluntaris I activists mantiene viva la placa de Sant Jaume, la lluite social comencava d-una nova manera, amb la informació com a arma, que sols requeriex la implicació voluntaria, parlar, escoltar i pensar.

El treball de tots els cuitadans ha mantingut un debat públic obert els veins comercos PIMES movements i cuitadans individuals han col.laborat contribuint amb idees aliments I material per l-autogestió, mentre des del campament els oferiem la informació I el diàleg/

Es que no és prou legitim el que la ciutadania escull de manera espontaànea com a alternative a la falta de diàleg democratic? No s’ha demostrat ja que estem tots junts?
Que tant el poble com les institucions defensen l-enteniment?

Per què ens volen fer fora?
No hem cap motiu explicit. La Guerra es deu estar acabat.
Que vindrà després?
La nostra intenció és permaneixer com a campament autogestionat mantenint mitjancant el treball de tots una alternativa vàlida a la societat de consum com és el capitalisme neoliberal, establint així un espai obert al diàleg public, social i personal.

La gesta de Barcelona ha estat el clamor popular que s-ha aixecat per la pau I no podem permetre que aquest crit de pau es manipuli i recaigut en l’espiral del consum com tants altres crits que s-han silenciat a base de desallotjaments.

La nostra intenció és establir un diàleg social constant I un exemple de sostenibilitat amb els mitjans que disposem.
No volem diners publics, amb el que sobra del primer món podem funcionar perfectament, I amb el temps millorar l’espai per a tots I totes.

Que devant les dues cases públiques de poder més emblemàtiques de la cuitat disposem, com a poble que som, del nostre espai public de diàleg.

Alliberam les vues silenciades.
Donem als mitjans la llibertat d’ expression que mereixen.
Fomentem la relació entre presones de cara a l’intercanvi i l’aprenentatge.
I exaltem tots aquests valors morals I ètics que poc a poc el capitalisme ha aixafat.

Moltes gràcias a les milers de persones que han psasejat per placa sant jaume I shan aturat a escoltar i a tots i totes que han col.laborat a fer d’aquest lloc el lloc de tothom.
