We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

Bring them home Colombia 3 candidate to stand in NI elections

category antrim | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday October 12, 2003 22:41author by Jenny B Report this post to the editors

Catriona Ruanne of the 'Bring them home Colombia 3 campaign is set to stand in the forthcoming NI elections as a possible candidate in South Down. The Colombian 3, pensioner James Monaghan, Niall Connolly and Michael McCauley have been held in a Colombian jail, by Colombia's right wing junta military government.

Despite the Colombian Junta government having no physical or forensic evidence against them, the 2 men and pensioner have been held for 2 years in a Colombian jail and face an already fixed outcome show trial in a Colombian junta kangaroo court.

Does one cease to be a man on becoming a pensioner?

if they had been in the middle of AUC territory then it would have been different, or if they had been picked up in the middle of CIA/plan Colombia territory, (oh they were- ooops), or if they had been picked up in downtown Bogota, it would have been different...
Colombia is different full stop.
Bring them home to chastise or greet them, but bring them home and thus hopefully some day through the added interest and application of norms of human rights and justice, some day all the little colombians will maybe enjoy those rights you used to take for granted in Ireland.

why did gerry adams deny all knowledge of these "observers" as soon as they surfaced.

Also has anyone notice how FARC have increased car bomb and urban attacks, a once noted tactic of the bold IRA.
Coalescing with the FARC is serious and they should pay.
