Is the era of cheap internet surveys over? A new paper demonstrates that AIs can now be "trivially programmed" to answer online surveys in ways that are essentially indistinguishable from humans.

We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

Coke sending a Heavy hitter to Dublin to counteract growth of 'Urban Legends'

category international | anti-capitalism | news report author Friday November 07, 2003 14:22author by ec Report this post to the editors

Seems that the UCD Boycott of Coke Products is turning a few heads in the boardrooms of the Multinational. IMC IRL will tomorrow be publishing an in-depth feature about these 'urban legends. The below is a cut and paste from unison.ie Perhaps some UCD heads should consider contacting SIPTU and arranging to meet the same high-ups as Mr Quiros.

Coca-Cola claims are 'urban legends' A SENIOR executive of Coca-Cola has arrived in Ireland amid concerns over a student union ban on the sale of its products in protest at the company's alleged compliance with paramilitary activities in Colombia. Coca-Cola's director of communications in Latin America, Rafael Fernandez Quiros, is meeting Irish employees and representatives of Siptu, saying the company has been wrongly accused. He said claims about the company had become "urban legends". The sale of Coca-Cola products in outlets operated by UCD Students Union has been banned following a referendum last month, but the issue is to go before students again in a second referendum later this month
