The SWP and Marxism

category international | anti-capitalism | opinion/analysis author Monday November 17, 2003 16:57author by In defence of Marxism Report this post to the editors

Paying the price for opportunism Phil Sharpe examines what lies behind the moves by the Socialist Workers Party to form a Peace and Justice Party with representatives of the Muslim community. In the first of a four-part series, he examines the background to mounting criticism of the SWP’s methods and its growing internal crisis

This is posted in the interest of deluded SWP members who think the SWP is actually interested in constructing a mass party of the working class. Pleas use the link below to read the truth!

Lets hope Phil doesn't pay too much of a price. By the way the SWP in Ireland will be holding our Marxism event in Dublin at the end of the month.

nice graphic for marxism, I wonder did they recruit a graphic designer.

Maybe she was one of the 150,000!!! people marching in dublin on feb.15th. I wonder if they're still counting coz the number keeps going up. I guess it doesn't really matter how many go on a demo because as time passes you can simply keep inflating the numbers until your cause looked like it was respectable way back when.

Revisionist Vangaurdism, the new way backwards ;)

So, let's say the voters of Ireland underwent a Damascene conversion and elected an SWP government, all TDs in the Dail were SWP.

So, let's say that 5 years down the road the voters of Ireland were unhappy with the SWP policies (yeah, I know I'm stretching credibility here but indulge me) and wanted to vote the SWP out.

Would they be given the chance to vote again? Would they be allowed to vote for non SWP candidates?
